The Faceless Drummer Lyle Cooper Quits

That’s it for Lyle Cooper of The Faceless. The drummer has called it a day for the progressive death metal band, after almost five whole years of behind behind the drum kit. The Faceless shot out this official statement. You can also view a drum cam of Lyle Cooper below.

”After almost five years with the band, I’ve decided to part ways. Over the last couple of years it seemed that the interests, goals and musical approach of the band was not that of my own. Also, managerial issues became too frequent with no resolution. These issues, I felt, made it hard for me as an individual to produce as a creative and enthusiastic member.

“I’m sure that proceeding my departure, the band will have no trouble finding someone with the right mindset and talents to step in and keep the band moving forward.

“Thank you to the fans and everyone who supported The Faceless throughout the years. I wish the band and its members nothing but continued success and make sure you catch them on their upcoming tours. I will still be pursuing my other musical projects so look out for new Absbrdist and Abhorrent this year.”

Hope For Dying Debut Lyric Video for ‘In Isolation’

Hope For Dying has debuted a lyric video for the song ‘In Isolation‘. Taken from their upcoming Facedown Records release Aletheia, which will be out on March 19, Hope For Dying is one of those bands that seem to not get much love outside of their smaller circle. Give Hope For Dying a whirl. Cacophony of blended keys and guitar solos. Not too shabby.

WEAPON Premiere New Music Video for ‘Embers and Revelations’

Canada’s black/death destroyers WEAPON have unleashed a brand new music video for the title track from their Relapse Records debut, Embers and Revelations, via Noisecreep at this location and below.

Vetis Monarch, leader of the horde, commented on the concept and making of the clip:

“This is the first official, professionally done WEAPON music video. Choosing one song off of ?Embers And Revelations‘ was tough, but we finally decided on the title track of the album because it represents  WEAPON in 2013 so aptly: violent, mystical, cathartic. The video was filmed / edited by Dan Wilberg and his cohorts (who also filmed the entire making-the-album series of ‘Embers And Revelations’); suffice to say, the experience was quite different for us, being in front of a bunch of cameras and such… very different from a live concert setting. The underlying theme of the video is that of rebirth, which is in essence the underlying theme of the new album, and WEAPON itself. We also hint at some Aghori-esque elements, and we have expanded on my appreciation of daemonic principles of the female form. This video is truly a great visualization of the ideology within our music.”

Protest the Hero Raise Over $230,000!

Protest the Hero has raised over $200,000 in one week via their Indiegogo crowd funding campaign. Having fulfilled their obligations to their former label, the band decided to go DIY and raise the funds for their new record themselves using crowd funding platform.

Protest the Hero had $140,000 just a few days ago. That number has jumped by a further six digits. Protest the Hero is offering many perks on the site that are only available to contributors and that are exclusive to the new album fundraising campaign.

Protest The Hero plans to go into the studio in March to record their fourth album. They can hardly go wrong with $230,000 in the bank.

“We are finally free from all obligations and want to be in control of our careers. In general, the record industry is backwards and we’d be stupid to renegotiate with anyone at this time.  Crowdfunding seems to be something that’s working.  Whether or not this is the next thing for the music industry, it’s a way that supporters of a band can know exactly where their hard earned dollars are going.  No middlemen, no commissions, no bullshit.”

Crossfaith Launch ‘Jägerbomb’ Music Video and US Tour

This March Japan’s Crossfaith will embark on their first ever US tour supporting Enter Shikari. The tour will last the entire month of March. Anyway, Crossfaith‘s combination of metalcore, hardcore, samples and electronica is pretty mesmerizing. They can play (and drink) a fair bit too. Genre transcending. Watch Crossfaith‘s new video for ‘Jägerbomb‘ below.
