Ozzfest 2007 – Rumors, News and Official Band and Lineup Announcements

OZZFEST…the heralded King of touring metal festivals returns for it’s 11th year. The 2007 edition of the world’s longest running touring metal festival will once again be headlined by it’s namesake, Ozzy Osbourne, and this time it’s free. Featuring an eclectic mix of bands, the festival will kick off on July 12 in Seattle, Washington and last through August 30, where the 24-date trek will come to a halt in it’s usual resting spot, Florida.

How much does the festival cost this year?

Nothing. It’s free! Tickets will become available through sponsors on June 12 via Ozzfest.com and LiveNation.com – More details are TBA.

Why isn’t Ozzfest coming to my city?

Good question. It’s probably down to ticket sales in previous years, routing issues, and whether or not that particular city is near another large city already hosting a date.

Will there be Off-Dates?

As in previous years, fans in cities not lucky enough to have Ozzfest chug through their tour have had smaller packaged tours featuring bands from the fest. Odds are it’ll happen again this year. Stay tuned to SMNnews for all the latest Off-Fest club and touring information. Remember – Off-Fest tours are not allowed to happen within a certain radius of where an Ozzfest date takes place. In the past, this limit has been set at 100 miles.

What time does Ozzfest start this year?

Things have changed – there’s no more 9am! This year’s festival will kick off at 1pm.

How much does beer and food cost?

The college notion of pre-partying would reign supreme here if you are considering knocking back a few tins. Beer usually cost upwards of $7, with food coming in at around that same price. Bring cash, but don’t be stupid and drink too much. Nobody likes ‘that drunk asshole’.

What can/can’t I bring into the veune?

Simply put – check your venue website. 9/10 you can’t bring in bottled water or any lame Hot Topic accessories. Don’t forget your sunscreen!

How much do t-shirts cost?

Past costs have trended somewhere around the $30-35 mark. Save your money – support the artist through their official webstore. If you really want an Ozzfest t-shirt that bad, wait and buy one on eBay or snag a $5 one in the parking lot.

Who is sponsoring the 2nd Stage?

This year, Generals of the Fall and Spring packaged tours Jagermeister are taking over from Hot Topic. They’ll be supplying a state of the art mobile 2nd Stage, and if you are old enough, plenty of free swag.

Some manage to break through following a successful stint on the 2nd Stage, others vanish into the sands of time. Many bands have enjoyed repeated stints on the festival (OTEP, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, HATEBREED, etc.) , and others have had eggs thrown at them (IRON MAIDEN). Whatever the case may be, eyebrows are sure to be raised as you pick through the pages of ‘who used to be…’.
