Between the Buried and me tuning?
I was wondering, I am a drummer, but I am trying to take up guitar as well. Does anyone know what Between the Buried and me tunes to? Thanks.

STANDARD-C (Db) But if your taking up guitar, You don't want to jump into their music first because you need a lot of experience and knowledge on the guitar to play their riffs.

Oh, I know, but I just want to get a feel for the tuning they play in, that's all. I know how hard and complex their stuff is. Thanks, man.

You do know standard C and Db are not the same thing? They actually use C# standard I thought. Which would be Db.

Dude, it's not drop C#... its standard C#
OK, here it is, i know it's what you've all been waiting for... The Unofficial Recipe for a BTBAM tuned guitar: Take 1 standard tuned, concert pitch guitar. Tuned low to high: E A D G B e. Put in oven and bake for 40 minutes at 3000 degrees if you feel it is necessary. Remove guitar from oven. Using the tuning pegs on the headstock of the guitar, tune every single string down A TONE AND A HALF. That is to say A TONE AND A SEMITONE. The equivilent of 3 frets. The resultant tuning should read a little something like this. Low to high: C# F# B E G# c#... or alternatively Db Gb B E Ab db. Sprinke with a light dash of salt and parsley and it is ready to be served. SHRED!!! And just for sake of getting something off my chest C# and Db are 2 different names for exactly the same thing! Db and C# are not different in any way at all other than their names, they both stand for and represent exactly the same thing (note). Same goes for all corresponding flat/sharp combinations, eg. G# and Ab, D# and Eb etc. HA! I'm going to bed now. GOODnight! (crowd goes wild). |

you are stupid. go look at many riffs in their songs. if they tune the way you think they do, its only for a select few songs.

Hah...since when is it possible to look at a riff? If you mean reading tablature, then I'm sure I could go to metaltabs.com and look at some of their tabs. Guarunteed they are all in C#. But whatever, this is retarded, just give it up

and actually, the FIRST note they hit in aspirations is a C#, not a D. You're just a half step off. And I was wrong, but oh well. It's in C#, STANDARD, tuning

"we tune down a step and a half from standard E"
That is a direct quote from Paul. They do not play in a drop tuning whatsoever, on any of their songs........ |

That'd be nice but, considering that most of the board is musicians.....Everyone has to express their knowledge on what they know....
