The Detox Thread
I don't know if anyone else here is a fan of Dre, but this whole situation is pretty much the coolest thing that has happened in hip hop in ages if you think about it. According to DJ Quik here, Dre has written 400 tracks for this CD and is being very selective about what will make the final record. All of the stuff that has leaked up to this point, including Kush, which has an official video will not be on the album. Even if this album never comes out, when Dre dies, shit is going to be coming out every year for the next 30 fucking years. He also goes on to say that Dre is getting classical trained in piano.
Personally I'm a big fan of his instrumentals and I think he has some awesome style on some of the tracks he is on, although I think he's made some lame shit. I fucking hated that Kush song, and hope that it doesnt make the album. Dre said that he was tired of writing rap about smoking weed and what not. Detox was supposed to be an organized crime record, which sounds fucking awesome. Cuban Linx, anyone? I've also got 2 leaked versions of the whole album, both of which with completely different song lists and guests and what not if anyone wants them. None of these songs will make it to the final record. I would be disappointed if these were the final mixes of the record, but there are some really awesome vintage Dre vibes on em.

album is going to suck when it never comes out. i hear dre doesnt even do shit in the studio anymore and just sits around while everyone else works for him
