I have the album, I've listened to it several times, I don't get the enjoyment from their music like I did when I first heard those youtube tracks on here. I really like the lyrical approach and the annunciation of the words, she creates her own vocal rhythms inside the beats which is quite nice, but.. I can't help but feel the music as a whole is a pretentious trendy milkshake of "what's hot", 'intentionally quirky' and 'try hard - to fit an image'. I can't sap any joy from the music and I end up being frustrated. It's like a soundtrack for teen/early 20 bloggers/rebloggers 'working' on their freelance design work pasting their Purity Ring's) lyrics over bad photographs of waves, trees, hands and feet.

Sorry for the generalisation and stereo typing.. I think i'm just pissed about not being able to enjoy this anymore.

Actually I feel exactly the same way, you just said it way better than I could. It gets old really quickly for some reason.

little late on this one...usually I don't enjoy this kind of music, but I just heard Belispeak and Obedear on YT and damn, this is GOOD.

I'm more than 98% sure that this album has been posted on here. I'm 100% sure I've seen a regular talking about it on the 'now playing' thread but fuck it, It's been a favourite of mine for a while and it's one of those albums that appears in and out of my life.

It's a fitting soundtrack to a night walk. There's a strange sadness in her voice no matter how upbeat the music gets her voice just brings it down to a very subtle somber note. I really like this album.

At least just as good as their debut, maybe not as infectiously catchy, but they definitely grew as a band, especially Jamie and his contribution, I think.
Seems like some fans of their first album dislike it for being even more downtempo and subtle though. It's also a tad darker, which I dig.

I finally heard the whole thing earlier this weekend and I'm really really enjoying it.
I'm loving Fineshrine, Amenamy, Grandloves, Obedear, and Lofticries. Definitely a choice for me for AOTY.
