Beautiful Albums?
What are some albums you consider to be beautiful or poignant? They don't have to be metal.
I'll start off with some obvious ones ![]() ![]() ![]() |

There are alot of beautiful CDs, but Agalloch - The Mantle, is untouchable, honestly when i listen to it, its not just music, it is so much more, and has more feeling and more beauty that any Cd i have ever listened to.

Someone just had to make the obligatory Pink Floyd post. I say this only because they are first band that come to mind for me as well.

Cocteau Twins is easily among my favorite non-metal bands of all time.
and I mean, if you want to talk about "beautiful"? well... Sidenote: While I've been into Cocteau Twins a long time, I actually never followed up on any of their contemporaries and only heard the term "shoegaze" recently. If any of that is worthy, school me. |

THE ALBUM LEAF - good indie stuff, mostly instrumental. features some minor collaboration with the dude from sigur ros. but this band is american. some really good acoustic pieces
ELUVIUM - earlier stuff was noisier, very hard to describe. kind of like a warm, musical fuzz. sometimes with piano tinkering. newer stuff is easy to hear melodies in. FENNESZ - sometimes very harsh noise type stuff. but "endless summer" and even more so "venice" have cool keyboards with oscillators, guitar pieces, and more slowdive- souvlaki. less layered than MBV, more spacey though devin townsend band - terria and ocean machine. terria has some of the most layered and beautiful production ever |
