They got rid of Hagman and Stajan, and Ian White for Fredrik Sjöstrom. The goaltending is the only thing the really gained from these trades if you ask me, since I don't think they're hurting THAT bad for GF...but their roster is probably going to look quite a bit different by the trade deadline.

Sucks that they lost Stajan and White, but Phaneuf isn't bad at all, and Giguere is a great goalie. Hopefully Toronto will see some changes for the first time in over 40 fucking years.

He's not too bad. Dude's got a hard shot and is a pretty hard hitter. Also, 10 goals this season, not too bad for a defenseman.

My dad's from Toronto, so Leafs are his favorite team, and he seems to be happy with the trade.

the defenseman the leafs traded for him has four more points this year [nine goals, 17 assists to Phaneuf's ten goals, 12 assists], plays more on average [23:47 to 23:19], in fewer games, making $6 million less, and is one year older.

phaneuf has more potential to be a #1, but when you factor in throwing in a dude with 41 points [16+25], and a dude with 20 goals [20+13] who is signed to a relatively decent contract [$3m/yr] for the next two seasons... it could look ugly if phaneuf doesn't shape up.

Yeah, that's true. Toronto's obviously gotta make some changes though.

I think they at least lucked out with Giguere, because Toskala wasn't that good.

Giguere's .900 SV% is clearly better than Toskala's .874 SV%.
