I'd bet it's the same tuning as Beheaded. Sounds like G to me.

Hey guys, finally got my ass here, sorry for the wait but i had problems with my interent. Both gordon and myself (Nick) will be online so we could get in touch more often. As witht the tuning of Incised Wound Suicide its not the same tuning as beheaded, Daves tuning is A flat :)

I do not concur that "low = metal." It does often work, but a low tuning isn't really necessary for a heavy sound (look at all the doom bands that tune to standard), it's all in the riffs.

Nonetheless, is there any particular way (like techniques and tips and stuff) to pick out from an album what the guitars are tuned to, or do you just have to be good at pitch recognition? I ask because I suck arse at playing gore and death metal by ear cause I can never work out the tuning.
