I woudn't be surprised if none of them are actually British at all, the accents were terrible. I'm guessing they're all probably all Aussies.
I bought IP Man 1 last month. Really liked it, certainly one of the better martial arts films I've seen. Based on true events too.

Will probably buy IP Man 2 somewhen.

As much of a disappointment-fest as Ong Bak 3?

Pretty cool. Can't say I loved it but it had some good moments. I'm not a huge fan of Westerns anyhow.

On a totally unrelated matter, I just found out they've re-made Straw Dogs and it's set in America. How fucking stupid is that? As if the Wicker Man re-make wasn't a big enough abomination.

...Why?

Ip Man 2 is awesome! Even though the first one was really good, I felt that this one had a lot more action & emotion. Not to mention the SPL reunion showdown with Sammo Hung. I marked out badly when it went down. The cameo at the end was neat, too.

Did anybody see Chen Zen: Legend of the Fist? I have to watch it again, because my first go around with this film didn't do very much for me. Got to get to The Lost Bladesmen, but I haven't found the time to.

Alls Well Ends Well looks interesting as well. Donnie Yen in a comedy, as a make-up artist. Haha!

Blade - hilarious one-liners, great action, and Wesley Snipes is maximum buffness hahaha.

Blade II - marginally worse than the first one, cause the plot was a bit contrived and the violence was quite apparently toned down to garner a wider audience. Still has the essence of buffness though. Love how his sunglasses are absolutely indestructible and inescapably attached to his head during all the fights.

The Naked Gun trilogy - 1st one is absolute genius, Nielson's deadpan delivery is organic comedy gold. So many subtle things going on in the background and in the details, makes rewatching rewarding. 2nd one is much the same, still damn funny but a bit more slapstick. Quite a lot of subtle humour in this one, the nuclear power TV ad dog was the best. 3rd was pretty bollocks, but still had a handful of sidesplitting one-liners. Need to watch Airplane! and Airplane 2 next.

Zombieland - This was actually incredibly good. Read that it was inspired by Shaun Of The Dead...though this is clearly different in approach, I found this far superior. Woody Harrelson makes the movie, though other cast do a good job. Didn't know much about it before watching, thoroughly enjoyed the fuck out of it.

Has anyone seen Mesrine Part 1/2? Those relatively recent films with Vincent Cassel as the main protagonist. Got em lined up, they're supposed to be good. Got Marwencol and Neds lined up too.

Good stuff.

I like Blade 2 better than 1, but maybe that's because of how dated the blood god sequence looks in 1.

You thought Zombieland is "far superior" than Shaun of the Dead?!!?

hahahahaha yeah true that, some major .
I love how the music is so damn badass, but you would never listen to it outside the movie.

Like I said, they're different in approach. Shaun of the Dead is your typical modern British humour, which is great. But Zombieland has clearly American styled humour, and had me laughing almost the whole way through. Perhaps American style humour just 'fits' better with zombies, cause the whole point is not subtlety but to be over the top. Both are great, but Zombieland just tickles me more.

Also, kinda offtopic but I think Simon Pegg has turned into a sorta mediocrity machine...I haven't seen all of his latest films but it looks like he's just churning out random bollocks quickly without taking the time to do something as good as Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz. Someone tell me if I'm completely wrong and his latest films are worth watching though.

Seen them, I'd recommend 'em without hesitation, Cassel is awesome. Nothing mindbendingly awesome or something, but solid and thoroughly enjoyable crime dramas nonetheless.

looks horrifying, is it very gory?

The soundtrack of buttgereit films seems to be excellent in general, loved the ones of todesking and nekromantic

I like blade 1 much more than 2, tho i love 2 aswell. Which is weird because Toro is definitely a much better director than Norrington. Maybe its because Dorff really kicks ass as a villain, and its less comical more serious. And the music and atmosphere just work better. Still 2 is a great action flick. Now 3 is where they dropped the ball serious facepalm, arrgh it was just a huge clusterfuck.

And on Shaun vs. Zombieland imo Shaun just beats ZL million times over in directing, editing, plot, characters, dialouge and at actually being funny. ZL was mediocre shit borderline boring shit. Eisenberg is fucking annoying whats with these annoying nerds/geeks that can't act getting leading roles yuck. Even Murray couldn't save this by the numbers film but was by far the best part. ZL was just nowhere near the level of Shaun, not even close.

Been wondering about this one myself. I quite enjoyed Nekromantik 1 & 2. Been trying to find Der Todesking, though it only seems to be available on region 2 DVDs. Perhaps I'll have to buy one of those. Anyone know what the hell Buttgereit has been doing in the decade since he made any films?

on a related note, I've been trying to find this movie:

Saw it in Imax, pretty meh. There were some funny parts.

It was also strange to see that they filmed some of it just down the road from me at Hampton Court palace. I had no idea.
