Interview with Deeper Underground

Hi guys! How are you doing? How are things in Minnesota?

We're doing great. Right now it is hot and very humid in Minnesota.

2008 and Incinerate has it's 10th birthday! How are feeling about this?

Yes, I started this band up in June of 1998, so it has been 10 years now. We've been through a lot of shit and a lot of good times as well. Apparently more good times than bad since we're still here!

You have a new record coming out in later this year! "Anatomize" is the name of your second full-length album! Is there a release date scheduled? You mention in your myspace profile (http://www.myspace.com/incinerateus) that all pre-orders of "Anatomize" will be shipped out in September 12th, is this the release date?

The actual release date is October 17th, but pre-orders are shipping out mid-September.

Do you cellebrate your birthday with "Anatomize"?

Well if you're talking about the band's birthday, not actually.

"Anatomize" will include 9 brand-new songs! Could you the tracklisting and the length of the album?

Sure, the tracklisting is as follows: Continuum, Emissary, Depravity, Inherited, Infantiphagia, Harvest, Exsanguinate, Ascendant, and Anathema.

The great Tony Koehl is responsible for the awesome artwork on this one! Damn, this guy's hand is on fire!

Yeah, we're pleased with the cover art that Tony came up with. Jesse (vocals) came up with the concept and Tony did a fine job capturing what we were looking for.

You have pre-orders of the new album available (as we mention before) but you also have pre-orders of your first album "Dissecting The Angels" which will include some bonus stuff such as new layout, early demo material and a live video! How are the pre-orders doing?

Yes, Dissecting The Angels has been out of print for nearly a year now. So with our new CD coming out, it seemed like a good idea to make Dissecting The Angels available again. This time around with a new layout, bonus tracks from our 2000 promo, and live video from a fest we played in Colorado.

By the way, cheerz for having XXXL sizes available in your merchandise, few think of us (fat pride broz!!!) nowdays! You have two songs of "Anatomize" available for streaming in your myspace profile. How's everybody reactions to these tracks?

Yeah, we're trying to make our merch available to all shapes and sizes. So far the reactions have been great on myspace. The album turned out to be every thing I had hoped for.

You are looking for a new drummer and a new bassist! Any luck until today?

No luck with any drummers yet. We've seen a little interest from a few bassists. But it's still very early to tell.

Any discussions for a tour? European or American?

Yeah, we're totally interested in touring Europe or America. We just need a full line-up with either full time members or even session players.

Any shows booked?

No. Since we've been without a drummer and bassist, we've pretty much had to turn down all show offers.

Enough for the present and the future! Let's dive in the past of Incinerate! Your first release was a self-released demo in 2000 and your first full-length "Dissecting the Angels" came out in 2002! Which was the best show you did back then?

Probably the best I can remember was a set we performed at the Milwaukee Metalfest in 2000. We had our largest crowd there watching us and our set went really well.

There is also a DVD called "Brutal Domination" which includes, except you guys, Internal Suffering, Stabwound and Emeth...

Yes, this is a DVD from all four bands during the Brutal Domination tour we did in 2004. It features complete sets from all four bands' performances at the Central Illinois Metalfest, along with other footage taken during the tour.

What about Brutal Bands? How is B.B. going so far? (Brutal Bands is one of the few labels that print t-shirts in big sizes - xxl, xxxl)

Brutal Bands is doing well. Constantly growing and building the roster.

Have you suffered any censorship with all the t-shirt prints and artworks?

Not really actually. We've had a few fans complain that we never put out any shirts they can wear. So we've decided to offer more variety of shirts now. Offensive ones and not so offensive ones. We'll probably continue to do this as it is helping sell more shirts.

The ending lines are yours....

Thanks a lot for the interview and support! If you haven't yet, please check out our myspace page at www.myspace.com/incinerateus. We are still looking for a drummer and bassist, so if you're interested, get in touch to find out what you need to do to try out.

Thanks guys!
