![]() Kids- Was pretty great. Just finished watching Elephant the other day, and they shared a very similar style, both strong movies. I can't wait to watch Bully and Julien Donkey-Boy, especially the latter because I love Herzog and I have enjoyed the Dogme pieces I've seen so far. I still haven't seen Gummo either, which I'm holding off on because I think I'm expecting too much from it at this point. I'm really more interested in seeing The Diary of Anne Frank Part II. Sounds ridiculous. So yeah, I'm going through Harmony Korine's and Larry Clark's films right now. Also just saw House of the Devil since everyone has been talking about it. I haven't seen any other Ti West films, but I thought it was pretty great (I'm more into the slow boil horror films anyway) despite that I'm not interested in the horror nostalgia thing. Watched Young People Fucking the other night, was one of the few movies that made me want to have sex and slit my wrists at the same time.

Kids is an awesome movie.Check out Ken Park its another film by the same director.
I watched Session 9 last night thriller/horror with David Caruso.Pretty good movie, weird seeing David Caruso outside of CSI,gets a bit tedious towards the end but worth watching once |

Sherlock Holmes
I had only heard about it in that stupid phone service commercial so I went with no expectations other than the pg-13 rating. Turned out pretty ok. Wasn't ground breaking on any level but was better than Iron Man. I wonder if any of that chemistry was true. |

I saw 500 Days of Summer on my flight yesterday. It was ok, but I was expecting more. Served its purpose by occupying me for a couple hours but that's about it.

Saw that when it came out very mediocre imo.Seems to be alot of those indie love story movies coming out lately pity none of them are good.

That was the other option I could have watched on my flight. But I was thinking, romantic comedy = more mindless = better for the circumstance. I don't know.

Kids is one of the worst films ever made and I hope the director dies.

I just finished watching Amos Kollek's trilogy about desperate women in New York. Bleak, depressing, gritty, sad, realistic. You folks who like Kids might like this shit (much better films though). Small slices in the lives of lost souls.
If you can, see them in order. They all have the same woman in the lead role, and it's cool to see her change and age slightly in each role. ![]() ![]() ![]() Anybody seen The Lovely Bones? A great copy just leaked...wonder if it's worth the watch |

I watched The Hangover last night finally. Holy fuck that movie had me laughing the whole time! That is one the the funniest movies to have come out in a while...if you haven't seen it, go rent it or something. It's definitely worth it.
The night before last I watched S. Darko...ehhh it wasn't that good at all. The first one was way better. If you saw the first one (Donnie Darko) then definitely do NOT watch this. It's not worth it unless you have nothin else better to do. It's pretty much the same plot but instead with an airplane engine falling out of the sky, it's with a meteor falling out of the sky. |

@Moemers: Haha, what didn't you like about it? 500 days surprised me, but only because I had not heard anything about it when I saw it and was expecting a mindless chick flick. It wasn't so bad, not great either. Myownsavior: Shit man, did you really just watch all of those recently? Some of my favorite newer horror films right there. A Tale of Two Sisters is so cool. And the Amos Kollek trilogy sounds right up my alley. I have an extra week off before school starts and everyone else is pretty much gone, so I have a lot of free time. I'll check it out! Also, The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, Her Lover was recommended in another one of these threads a few months back, I think. People really should check it out. Such a great set of characters and the visuals are extraordinary. Not only that but the juxtaposition of food and sex is... interesting and disturbing all the while making sense. It's a cool movie. ![]() |

Yeah, I watched those over the past couple weeks. A Tale of Two Sisters and High Tension was probably my favorite of those I mentioned.
