^Watched that a while ago. That's one of those movies that just makes you feel uncomfortable the whole way through up until the end. Definitely an interesting movie though. I'd watch it again.

Ghostbusters - not as offensive (in a bad way) as I expected because of bad reviews. Kate McKinnon's awesome, steals the show. Decent. One time watch only.

Jason Bourne - the new one - Vincent Cassel rules as a one dimensional assassin. Everything else was just OK or meh. There's a bunch of action scenes and two big sequences (one in Greece at the beginning and the car chase in the end), neither could save the movie from it's dull plot.

expected this to be a bad Trek movie but at least a decent action popcorn summer flick but it "exceeded" all my expectations. they somehow managed to make a worse film than STV and Into Derpness. i'm impressed

That scene was hilarious. Grimsby was pretty funny at times.
I love Sacha Baron Cohens completely fucked up sense of humor...

Thoroughly enjoyed this, recommended for any Bergman admirers. Couple of accomplished filmmakers (Haneke, Innaritu, Lee...) visit Bergman's island residence and discuss his legacy, accompanied with numerous interviews from Scorsese, Von Trier, De Niro, Allen, Coppola, Anderson ect, revealing how big of an impact Bergman has had on them.

*dont turn it off when the credits starts rolling, there is a perfect finale after them

watched train to busan a few days ago. while not groundbreaking, i thought it was a good zombie movie. i've pretty much seen all of the zombie movies worth watching so finding something that's good and new within that genre is nice.

neon demon pissed me off, it couldve been so good if the characters and plot was just more developed... instead we just got a shock show at the end that felt reaaaally shallow.

total crap except ost!pusher 3 with Milo is my favourite refn movie.

dark thriller from director of the chaser.best movie i watched this year so far.

batman with autism or better said jason bourne.unconventional action thriller that delivers on any level.

intense horror/thriller..it`s like panic room sort of home invasion movies gone more brutal with some good suspense and claustrophobic atmosphere.

Its hard to categorize this insanity, somewhere between the lines of Tim & Eric and Bad Taste, batshit crazy and a ton of fun, world definitely needs more of it.

Finally watched The Revenant. It was pretty good. The entire movie I was wondering to myself what the ending could possibly be and it went about the way I'd imagined. Not that it's a bad thing but being surprised would have been nice seeing as how long it was.

Finally watched Godzilla (2014). I thought it was really good and I'm looking forward to a sequel. Kind of sad that Bryan Cranston won't be in another but hopefully Ken Watanabe will be up for it.

Re: The Film Thread---Movies you recently watched

Moonlight - beautiful and depressing, 9/10. Recommended hard. I tried to come up with an order of liking for the 3 acts in the film (it follows the life of one person ... you start with seeing him as a young kid, then a teen and then an adult ... like the 3 faces on the movie poster), but as I was thinking out loud, it dawned that all of them were equally good.

The Last Dragon - villains can either make a movie good or bad or great and this movie gets it's greatness because of both villains. This was a lotta fun, good soundtrack.

Fantastic Beasts was just OK, in spite of the hype around it, well mostly because of the whole Potter universe connect. Randy Daytona steals the show and Eddie Redmayne looked and behaved like he forgot this wasn't The Danish Girl.

Dr Strange - this was good fun because I had no expectations. Bad guy was weak, Strange was okay but the visuals take the cake.

interesting sf drama about concept and theory of communication and our perception of time.plenty of visual influence from tarkovsky(solyaris) and 2001.

just saw this and... meh. okay at best. the SF part is kinda stupid and full of holes, the drama is hallmark-level drivel. it's kept together by Villeneuve so it doesn't degenerate into something completely unwatchable. 6/10 would not see again
