New obscura album in 2021!

Breaking news!
New obscura album is going to be released in early 2021. They have 9 songs finished. Btw, I didn't know that Sean Reinert was supposed to play on Cosmogenesis album.

I for one love this band and I can’t pick a favorite album of the last four, all bring something unique and they don’t forsake the heavy riff writing despite being so classically trained and having melody practically everywhere.

Re: New obscura album in 2021!

This band has always taken the boring/clinical parts of Necrophagist and ran with those ideas. Pedal point melodeath riffs played faster and with an octave thrown in between any intervallic motion. Most tech death nowadays is stuck in this format, and I'm surprised everyone laps it up.

Also, rarely do I ever let the artist's personal idealogies influence my listening, but from all the shit I've heard about Stephan and how he treats his bandmates, that guy (and his music) can go fuck a goat.
