I include only bands who had a life-changing effect upon me:

Black Sabbath
Judas Priest
Iron Maiden
Metallica (grudgingly)
Rush (more prog, but has metal elements)
Anthrax (Belladonna ONLY)
Slayer
Death
Cannibal Corpse
And most recently, Children of Bodom (nobody comes close to touching them)

In no particular order:

Slayer
Cannibal Corpse (Barnes era)
Cradle of Filth
Mayhem
Emperor
Immortal
Suffocation
Decapitated
Deicide
Dissection

Those are just my personal favorites...not really the best metal bands of all time I guess. But I think that Decapitated should be included. Fucking talented Polish bastards!

Fisting, you left out of your list Tasty Pus Records recording artists Rotting Suppurating Purulent Cottage-Cheese Septic Anal Septic Flesh (they're twice as brutal and septic because the ass is septic and the flesh is doubly septic - they're the septic-est band of all time!). They TOTALLY have the sickest bomb-blast, chernobyl blast, vaginal queef blast, festering ass blast, speedy gonzales blast, ridiculo-blast, nucleo-fallout blast, sand-in-the-crotch blast, moldy-mayonnaise blast, hangnail blast, and cromulent crepuscularly craptastic blast!! They crush!!

Ha, just kidding. Deicide, huh? I dig the first record, that's it. No Death on your list ("Human"? "Symbolic"?)? Have you checked out the Capharnaum stuff (www.capharnaum.org)? Way tech, but brutal as hell. Good stuff. Thanks for stopping by, don't be a stranger.

Don't you like Dissection? Decapitated? Deicide is great but no way to make the top 10...

You know what? I realized that I only liked maybe 2 or 3 of Deicide's albums. I think I'll replace them with Satyricon.
As for Death, this may seem kinda blasphemous, but I haven't heard much of them. The songs that I did hear were average. :(

who is...

Who is Epitaph? Better known as Epituff. Ask Kevin. They were only the strongest heaviest sickets metal band of the early 90's. I think he has some of their underground/early day demo's. Wait till you hear these guys. I can't beleive they didn't get an album deal. Ask Kevin about that too...:D

Well I'm sure Kevin has plenty of Epitaph CD's stuffed away in his Garage for re-distribution and world Dominance once they capture the hearts and minds with Adrift..lol. See if he's got any to spare..haha.
