you guys rocked in ft. lauderdale

let me start out by saying i am new to you guys, and wasn't expecting anything spectacular, but you guys sure as hell delivered, i was especially impressed with the guitarist, and my friend marches in a drumline and thought that your drummer might have marched at one time, is this true? and what was with the electronic kick drum being hidden by a real bass drum, aint nothing to be ashamed off you guys KICK ASS, KEEP IT UP

I've seen Martin do that both times i've seen DOA. He triggers his bass drum through the electronic kick drum. I dont know why he does that instead of triggering the bass drum, maybe he just likes the feel of it.

Thanks dude. Killer to hear you dug our set. To answer your question, no martin never did marching, its not very common here in NZ....

About the Vdrum, martin uses it because its alot less stress than using someone elses kicks and having to worry about skin tension, different feel with different kits etc. Also in NZ double kick kits arn't easy to come by, and when we tour here often we have to fly rather than drive due to the logistics of touring in NZ. The vdrum is very handy in this respect becuase its so portable you can take it as carry on luggage on the plane.

Also the regular bass drum isnt to hide the vdrum, its to stablise it becuase its alot more prone to move around during the set due to its light weight than a regular kick. We've used bricks, sandbags or whatever before, but a kick drum does the job good and usually tends to be around when you are playin a show.

Rigel, what did you think of the band sin of angels, i personally could not stand them (not to be a hater or anything), i felt it was too repetitive, boring, and slow, and they stole the cover for their demo from nevermore's in effigy
