![]() Does anyone know how to get the classic Finnish Death Metal tone. I've been working on emulate the tone for a couple days now and no dice. I'm beginning to think it was either studio production or a specific pedal. Any help would be appreciated.

I might be totally wrong, though. I can only speak for myself, but on the other hand, I lived in the scene back then. -agb |

Really? All the bands, I've heard from the early to mid 90's Finnish Scene have a very similar, crushing tone. I assumed that it must have been a regional thing, analogous Swedish Scene's situation.
It looks like creating the tone is going to take a little more footwork and experimenting. Rather than, shelling out 50 bucks for a Vintage HM-2. |

I've found experimenting in the computer software Guitar Pro 3 and Amplitube 2 delivered some good soundalikes to those tones. As for using hardware (amps and stuff), why not ask Antti what he used?
You'd tell us wouldn't you, Cyuonut? |

Thanks for the insight. I'm going to keep an eye out for that Tokai pedal, as I've never used one.
