I really don't see the point in having a cab that is rated so high in wattage. Without a 500-1000 watt power amp to run it, it's basically worthless. No standard head will be able to push the speakers to it's full potential. If the Vader cabinet guy would build a cab with 60-70 watt Eminence speakers, that would be perfect. I would rather match the power to the speakers, than underpower them.

There's different views on this, and it all comes down to preference. When you have lower wattage speakers, they break up more. Causing speaker "distortion" which doesn't mean farting out, but there is a noticeable added distortion. They do fart out sooner as well. Some people prefer speaker distortion. That's why a lot of guys get celestion greenbacks. Then there's the people who dislike speaker distortion and like a lot of clean headroom. Speaker's that break up sooner usually aren't prefered by people who like good clean tones as well.
As far as no regular head being able to push a Vintage 30 cab to its potential, that's not true. You can run a 100 watt power amp into a 280 watt cabinet and make it fart out like a mother fucker because it simply does not have the headroom to handle the low end and low mids. It will first lose it's tightness in the low end, then it will fart out. Of course cabinet design, type of power section, and eq'ing are all major factors. Anyways it all comes down to personal preference. If you like speaker breakup, don't care about clean tones, lower wattage speakers are the way to go.

I hear ya.

I am really interested in getting a Vader cab. But I really don't think my power amp could push that cabinet. Right now, I've been looking into the Carvin Legacy cabs, not too sure though. I'm also going to buy another TS-100, one for each cabinet.

Hey, I noticed your name on the Vader site. Is he endorsing you at all?

Do you like Greenbacks? My buddy Derek at rocksolidamps.com has Framus cabs at a great price. Check em out. From what he has told me, they are incredible cabs. He likes them more than other cabs he has that cost twice as much. Also, maybe you can get an unloaded cab from Vader cabs and pop in some speakers you really like. (Yes, SS is now endorsed by Vader cabs)
