I think the reason why brutal death metal got associated with wiggers is because both emphasize on groove, which is why most people are also into hip-hop

Yes!

Sounds like the missing bridge between Choronzonic and Awakening. I dig it, even Ramirez is sloppy than ever, especially (whaou!) on the gravity blast towards the intro.

Didn't blow me away like Vanished From Cosmos, but it's definitely a sick song. I'd echo what Ander said, too.

I don't think this got posted yet, but mega hails:

Exactly my thoughts. I'm sure all the people who didn't quite get Awakening of the Rebel will be happy. The production sounds pretty perfect, which is awesome. IMO the intro sounds like Origin, and there are some slower parts in the song which I really hope is kept to a minimum throughout the album.

That Internal Suffering owns. Very raw and epic to my ears. But i've always liked them.

Can definitely understand why anyone would find Internal Suffering shitty, but I love BDM that pushes the sonic envelope. Intense; chaotic; awful, noisy production; energetically sloppy.. they're one of the best. And actually, they always have fantastic riffs churning in that murk.

http://buriedzine.bigcartel.com/product/buried-issue-5

BURIED ISSUE 5

This Fifth volume surveys the best of the brutal and slamming death metal scene in South East Asia, a young and vibrant metal scene that is yet to receive much interest from metal’s traditional audiences in Europe and North America. Luminaries of the scene such as Down from the Wound, Digging Up, Splattered Orgasm and Total Rusak took the time to be interviewed for this edition.

Alongside underground metal bands, Buried also commissions artists to produce new works along morbid themes. After her ultra gory contribution to issue 4, Tai Shani returns with a new fiction work that has a musical accompaniment by Chloe Herington. Sculptor Tamsin Snow and Photographer Hal Sear have also produced new works for this issues, as have legendary metal illustrator Mark Riddik and comic book artist Stefan Saddler.

Super happy someone out there giving some love to the SEA scene. I got issue 4 and this is such a beautiful work. I wish zines would put as much effort as this. Total support.

Siksakubur's early albums were the best from the "SEA" scene imo. Shame they're not what they used to be.

Ohh god...ohh yesss!!

I´m happy to hear that not too much changed in the Putrid camp. Ok with more variations in tempo but with the same trademark brutality. This is everything I ever wanted from bdm.

One question remain- How the fuck can Davide (drummer) ever be replaced?

Putridity album is another 9.5/10

They're masters at building friction in their songwriting but not quite masters at releasing it and sucks they never will be since they broke up.

They're still fucking amazing, as near to perfection as I've heard in the genre

Putridity is still active. They just need to find a new singer & drummer. I think the hardest for them will be to replace the drummer. Just a handful of guys could handle those warp-speeds and constant time-changes.

I wouldn't mind at all if Ciccio took over the vocals again. I liked all the REEEEEEs on the first album.

I enjoy a dosage of them from time to time, but to this day I couldn't really make out anything that really resembles "songwriting" in their music...

^ This. Almost nothing ever grabbed me at all. I liked some of the first record.. mostly the sound the sound of it. But nothing really sticks out for me. Every now and then i try to give their records a spin.

I think Ciccio has done a masterful job at making more coherent music out of Enmity worship. Maybe someday this kind of BDM will be synthesized into something still more intelligible and conventionally engaging, but man, I love this album and the last.

Re: Brutal death metal anno 2015

This new Putridity album is really good, before with their other stuff I could listen to a song or so just for that ridiculous drumming, but this time I'm genuinely enjoying the whole package. That slower song halfway or so through the album is savage.

If the drummer has left though they're as good as fucked, not the end of the world though cause this band has probably peaked right here and doesn't really need to release anything more.
