Sounds like it was recorded on a cassette player in a rehearsal room and the mastering was just pulling the low and mids down and maxing the treble.

I'm not sure how Andy recorded it, but I imagine it's not far off that haha

If the vocals were higher in the mix and those guitars mixed louder (drums are a bit too loud too imo) it would sound a tad better. Decent riffs, it's just pretty underwhelming because the guitars are quite quiet.

This is good stuff man, although I'm not so fond of the guitar tone.

Excellent songs, strong melodies. Nout original but it works well. I can hear the soft hissing sizzle of deep fat fryers in the production, which is making me hungry.

Cheers for taking the time to check it out guys :) The next album should be a step up in terms of production

This is a track from the new Barshasketh album, which will be out later this year. I played guitar and did the dm backing vocals on this. Mix was done by Tom Walker, which some of you here will know ;)

Thoughts?

Sounds great! Really nice chords etc. I guess the production isn't as professional as the new Nile, but music-wise, I'd prefer that shit anytime.

That's cool man, I think we are a world away from what Nile sound like though!

Yeah, we took a lot more time mixing this and Tom put in the time it needed to make it sound the way we wanted.

Yeah, definitely. We are making up a short run to send out to labels to see if there's any interest in the album from them. If not, I guess we'll just have to self release it!

Thanks, and I'll pass that on to Tom! I hope he gets more mixing work- he's got a lot of talent and has proved he will spend as much time as it takes to get stuff right!

I listened to the old album, sounded OK. Perhaps not as dark as I would hope for in a black metal release. I liked that song with the more thrashy riff, but didn't really see the need for the solo. I'll listen to the newer stuff once I'm home.

Bump. The old album will be getting re-released on cd via Razed Soul Productions. Currently looking for a label to release the new album.
