Phlebotomized

"Immense, Intense, Suspense"

Any opinions on this rather over looked release?

Dubbed Forswearer is a masterpiece. I only pull out this album occasionally when the mood fits. Their Preach Eternal Gospels CD was cool as well, but I just couldn't get into Skycontact at all... too much change too soon. Glad they split up after that to save their legacy from further tarnation...

I just found this last weekend at Amoeba in SF. 5 bucks!!

I definitely like it, but I've only listened to it a few times so far.

Love this album. I wouldn't call it overlooked on this board.

I've never seen it mentioned here, but I also sort of disappeared for a bit. Only a couple people I know are actually aware of this album, hence why I said it was over looked for the most part.

I fucking love this album, been listening to a lot lately. I haven't checked out Skycontact yet, I heard that many people don't like this album at all. What's the deal with it?

It just differs a lot from their earlier offerings and takes a while to digest.

First day purchase kiddos haha.
Pre-internet and all that jazz.
Even saw them live on the "Skycontact" tour.

I wasn't aware how many people actually listen to this kind of stuff! I personally love strange avant-garde music in general, so this is just killer. You got to see them live Saldiac? I can't even begin to imagine.

Well, they were a Dutch band and I'm Dutch so do the math haha.
They weren't that great on this tour since they mostly played "Skycontact" tunes and just a few older ones.
But yeah, there are many bad ass obscure Dutch death metal bands that most folks don't know about. Phlebotomized have been mentioned on these boards several times though.

Creepmime has 2 albums actually.

You can do a search on Metal Archives with The Netherlands as filter and you'll find plenty obscure Dutch bands.
Even bands like Acrostichon, Beyond Belief, Bluuurgh, Celestial Season, Polluted Inheritance etc. aren't the most obscure.
Bands like Bowel Crust, Burial, Castle, Ulterior or Sexorcist definitely are among the most obscure since even many Dutchies have never heard of these bands.

EDIT: I was still typing this reply before I saw shadowhunter's post. Inquisitor was indeed brilliant, glad to have seen them live twice.

Diggin the shit out of this band. The first couple of minutes were harsh, but after a few bong rips, well you can say it sounds rather neat.

Don't forget one of the oldest Dutch death metal bands: Sempiternal Deathreign.

Not really. He's missing the "Devoted to god" demo and the "Preach eternal gospels" MCD.
