Agreed. In Sorte was the only one I didn't care much for.

Hey kids, I guess sometimes I'm guilty of taking pleasure in these three albums.

They're all available here, just in case you wanted to pick up some decent tunes this weekend:

Peace out and stay safe on the roads.

Symphony X is really amazing, not a guilty pleasure.

For me it's Rompeprop. So dumb and fun.

I'm not ashamed of it, but I really enjoy Despised Icon's whole discography.

shit, I came here to ask the same question.
I bought this CD when I was in Chile in 2001, listened to it several times on the flight back to NZ. Still listen to it every now and then.

these two bands pretty much ruled my listening in my teens.
So I guess it's not really a guilty pleasure but I still have a massive soft spot for these two releases.

Deftones
Beneath the Massacre
Rhapsody, this band cracks me up but so fun to listen to. I'd go and see them live and probably laugh the entire set.

HA FINALLY SOMEONE!!! She is just awesome! Dunno I guess I like lots of songs of the Emotions album...but really didn't deal with albums by her. We belong together and Fly like a bird were great songs off the Emancipation album.

First few Darkest Hour albums. Especially "Hidden Hands of a Sadist Nation".

EDIT: Also, System of a Down, especially Toxicity.

I never got into nu-metal for the most part. SOAD is as close as it gets. I guess my cheesy roots are all the street punk/cheese punk I liked in junior high like the Casualties, the Krumbums, Lower Class Brats, etc.

People are so quick to dork out with the SWEDEN DID IT FIRST stuff, and while it is true, there's such a tangible intensity to it that's missing from the majority of Sweden's own melodeth imitators. Not a landmark album, but certainly worthy of being touted as much as the stalwarts of the genre.

Not too much metal I listen frequently that I feel "guilty" about.

I think I still kind of like early Cradle of Filth when they were a symphonic bm with Hammer film schlock, but I haven't listened to any of those albums for a really long time, so I don't know if they still "click".

Recently I heard one of Dimmu Borgir's songs from Death Cult Armageddon and remembered why I used to like that album a lot.

Not too much else though...

Not to mention most folks aren't aware they were once good and have good albums, and were a DIY band and toured with phobia and the like when they were good as well.

Considering Tomas Lindberg's involvement with the production and guest vocals, and the fact they went to Sweden to record this, I would say Sweden definitely approved it, and that they also knew EXACTLY what they were doing. It's a worship album forsure, nothing but tribute, which doesn't bother me 'cause I listen to tons of stuff with that same attitude to songwriting.
