Good leads, *some* decent riffing, an impressive evolution from an album that I thought was far more characterized by the same flaws that are detrimental to this one: uncreative and subpar vocals, the aforementioned lack of dynamics (especially for a band whose aesthetic really calls for it), and a somewhat ineffable continuity with the tech-deathcore scene that they come from. The terrible drum production does actually pile on quite heavily, since it clashes so much with the melodies woven into the composition, but it's not the only problem to me.

I'm actually fairly impressed by their evolution, but the hype machine does mystify me a bit on this one.

I think this band is kinda lame. The guys clearly are able to play proficiently but that doesn't mean they can write a song that appeals to me or some of the other people on this board.

but that drum tone is definitely the absolute worst part about this song. The rest can be summed up in subjective taste but there is no denying that this is what drums should NOT sound like, stupid racist tag aside.

i'm with marlon on this, they sound nothing alike. it's like saying any "spacey" metal band sounds like Darkspace.

they sound more like Animals as Leaders with quite a bit more Satriani/Vai influences sprinkled with some blasts and growls. this is "death metal" even less than crap like Krallice is "black metal"
