I can certainly go along with the first two parts of that statement, but I’m going to have to say the production was the aspect of United in Regret that really left me wanting. It honestly sounds like it was mixed by a drummer. The <60Hz end is juiced way up, the vocals sound muddy and muted, and the guitar work in many places is almost totally drowned out by the stomping beats. I really, really love Mike’s work. He’s an astonishingly accomplished performer, creative, and technically superb (almost metronomic), but I’d enjoy that album a lot more if I could hear Jim and Noah too.

I don't know what's going on in your ear's, but the guitar work is much more clear and pronounced on United in Regret. It's A Celebration of Guilt that is so drowned out by drums...
