The Amenta - 'Flesh is Heir' - Album Update
The Amenta are currently recording the follow up to 2011’s ‘V01D’ . Entitled ‘Flesh is Heir’, the new album will be a further progression for The Amenta.
2004’s ‘Occasus’ showcased an aggressive and unique guitar driven style of extreme metal, ‘n0n’ divided opinion with its dense walls of electronic squall and stolen media samples while 2011’s ‘V01D’( still available for free download from theamenta.com) brought a rare glimpse of melody. ‘Flesh is Heir’ is an entirely new construction. Building from both the dirty riff-driven first album and the clinical micro-detailed second, ‘Flesh is Heir’ adds a new organic quality. Epic, twisted riffs complemented by distorted violins. Blast beats under destroyed choir loops. Harsh vocals amidst dubbed out ambience. Where others are content to release “product”, The Amenta insist on art. Drums have been recorded at Studio Zapata and will showcase the talents of Robin Stone in his first appearance on a full length album for The Amenta. Guitars, bass, vocals and samples/noise are in the process of being recorded in the usual far flung, disparate places. Song titles include: Flesh is Heir, Teeth, Ego Ergo Sum, Tabula Rase, Sewer, Obliterate’s Prayer, Disintergrate, The Argument and Cell. Based on the war of the two sides of a human soul: The Obliterate and The Realist. “I’ll gather my rags And walk into the waves, And pitch and sink In a sea of sound.” |
