Cool name, I'm pretty stoked for this. It has great potential to be one of the best of '09.

Not sure if they can top catch without arms, but this should be sick none the less.

I thought it was funny that they said "come listen to our entire album" and I was pumped as shit for it but then it was just every track stacked on top of each other. haha.

Yeah, Sanzen alone >>> everything on Catch Without Arms, although there are some really memorable tracks on there too.

Syrushred 02-21-2009 12:51 PM

About time. Can't fucking wait

dangerass 02-22-2009 01:41 AM

yes sireee. agree totally 100%, but im lookin forward to the new stuff. could be better but probably not.

cloudscollide 02-22-2009 04:15 AM

I don't think they'll ever top El Cielo but from the 19 studio clips they've posted over the last like 4 months, I have high hopes. I'm trying not to get TOO pumped and be let down but one things for sure, there's a ton of awesome instruments and percussion on this record. Violins, Cellos, Saxophones, Trumpets, loads of piano judging from the videos etc.

The band went into the studio with 30 songs and obviously had to cut some and choose the best for the record. Hopefully they don't leave REAL good tracks off like they did with Catch...

Jotun 02-22-2009 04:46 AM

Yeah Catch Without Arms is awesome but El Cielo is just a masterpiece.

cloudscollide 03-03-2009 01:59 AM

Especially compared to this. Just imagine what's on the inside if this is just the package cover...Haha.

Jotun 03-03-2009 03:12 AM

There so much awesome symbolism (supposed) on this cover.

Have any other songs been shown besides Savior? I know they had some newish stuff on the Live at the Fillmore but not sure if that stuff is gonna be on new CD? In my opinion, El Cielo kicks the shit out of Catch Without Arms, and that being said Catch Without Arms kicks the shit out of what I've heard from the new CD.

Iain Avstin 03-04-2009 01:05 AM

Sorry to say, El Cielo was amazing to me, but after that they really plummeted.

cloudscollide 03-04-2009 01:31 AM

Yeah there's a slew of new amazing songs actually. Waterbourne is one that may actually be my favorite since "Whoa is Me". There's another one called "Quotes" too that I really like. Saviour was my least favorite of all the new songs I heard. I'm pretty sure any new songs they played live were completely revamped in the studio though...they have like shitloads of musicians playing over the songs from the studio videos.

This CD will be WAAAY better than Catch Without Arms.

Iain Avstin 03-04-2009 01:34 AM

I think that new Isis album will be miles ahead of this.

cloudscollide 03-04-2009 01:47 AM

I can't even explain my anticipation for both of these records. My head is about to explode...I just read a press release for Wavering Radiant the other day that was so pretentious and amazing at the same time, haha.

Was Isis referred to as "Intelligent Metal" at least 10 different times...or "Thinking Man's Metal"?

Jotun 03-04-2009 02:10 AM

I'm tired of Isis, frankly. They have 3 albums that crush, can't see it going any farther than that.

^ Read that.

Iain Avstin 03-04-2009 02:13 AM

On the topic of post-metal bands like Isis, I hope Neurosis makes a new album soon.
