What about Battlestar Galactica?

i thought the mini-series and the first season were pretty good, but after that was total shit. and it has one of the worst endings in the history of television :emot-fail

on a somewhat related note, the new Stargate (SG: Universe) series that started two weeks ago is quite similar. if you liked BSG, check that out. i think it has potential to be much better than BSG (seriously, though; they should've named the show "Stargate Galactica: Voyager")

not really, when you break down season 2, the first third is awesome because they resolve the murder, the second third is admittedly pretty stupid because they haven't developed the next plot point enough and some of the subplots are gay as fuck like the bitch with the eyepatch and the cop and the dandy fighting over the police receptionist bitch.

then the last third is awesome because of the black lodge shit and i think the end of the series is dark and brilliant.

so there are only a few bad episodes in there and in reality they're just decent episodes with dumb segments.

Also "Homicide: A Life On The Streets" is worth a try. Its based on the book from David Simon. Even that it is older, it gives you a lot of WIRE-feelings and good laughts too.

Easily the best television show that has ever aired.

I even got into True Blood a bit because of Alan Ball's involvement. It's an interesting show although sometimes it makes me cringe it's so cheesy. But good moments, interesting supernatural characters, etc.

Uh, Eastbound and Down is pretty fucking funny, too.

New nip/tuck was fucking awesome.

I rarely watch TV primetime. But I caught a few episodes of Bones even though it's been on for years I never bothered. But it's pretty good. Seen maybe 6 or so episodes so far. I know I'm pretty late with it but either I watch just sports, news, and Dateline or 20/20 oh yeah, and I gotta watch my King of Queens and George Lopez on the DVR

Dexter and Curb Your Enthusiasm

I don't really watch TV at all, but Rome is by far the best show I've ever seen.

Both seasons were amazing, sucks that it didn't go on. They canceled it due to lack of money, but with DVD sales it ended up they actually would have been able to continue, except the whole set burned down.


I also finally started watching The Office (US). I hated it at first but now I like it a lot. I'm watching the current episodes and simultaneously going through the series (at season 2 now).

Rome is awesome, one of my favorite miniseries of all time. The DVDs are great because you can turn it on so it will tell you about certain things, for example customs and practices in Rome you might not normally pay attention to. It makes buying the dvds and watching it again even that much more worth it.

I have both the seasons but haven't done that - I'll have to try it! Sounds cool.

LOST, The Wire, Oz, Dexter (bit overrated). Maybe 24?
