Frank Zappa 11-28-2007 03:45 PM

I CARE how is it how does it compare to Kezia holy shit i want

grinny588 11-28-2007 03:51 PM

yea, details. better than kezia?? when does the new cd come out?

Alec 11-28-2007 03:55 PM

I NEED, but I am not shure when I will have a computer to download on.

Logan 11-28-2007 04:22 PM

So far I don't like it as much as Kezia, but I've only listened to it 2 times and Kezia is one of my favourite albums so take that how you will. However, the album is shredtacular and there are so many fucking killer riffs. I can see myself liking it more than Kezia after repeated listens though. It has an orchestral feel to it. There are three movements, and all the songs generally intertwine in one way or another. There's a lot more tech - if that was possible. Singing and screaming are even better, and i was one that liked both on Kezia.

It comes out on January 29th.

Logan 11-28-2007 04:23 PM

Okay it just transitioned into another song again and I'm pretty sure this is better than Kezia.

I take back what I said in my post above.

Cambridge_works 11-28-2007 06:58 PM

How are the vocals? I have always liked the vocals. I just want to know if he changed it all.

cloudscollide 11-28-2007 09:34 PM

I 4.5ed the last cd on Decoy. These guys are awesome. I can't wait to hear this one.

alright so after about 6 listens now i've decided that:

- this cd is fucking epic; if anything is better than this in 2008 than i'll be amazed
- everything sounds a lot more mature
- everyone in this band can shred their instrument and keep it really coherent
- as an album it is a lot more coherent than kezia, but some individual songs on kezia are better - if you get what i mean.

as for the vocals...like the rest of the music they sound a lot more developed, and in turn sound amazing. the clean vocals are just as good as before, if not better, and the screams are awesome. arif's growls are also amazing and sound like he should be the lead singer in a brutal death metal band almost.

Cambridge_works 11-29-2007 12:46 AM

That sounds awesome...

I really wish I could get a preview on myspace or some shit. I have been waiting for this for a long time.

haha so have i, i am just one of the lucky few to get to hear it in advance. the stupid watermarked beep bullshit is annoying as hell though.

oh and just so you know, this album is way more metal than kezia. there's virtually no -core shit in it besides the breakdowns.

teh Mazn 11-29-2007 12:58 AM

fuck you for not leaking it, but thanks for the shitty review.

Cambridge_works 11-29-2007 01:03 AM

Well from what he said. I wouldn't want to hear a beep every minute or whatever. So thank you for not putting a shitty leak out there. Mazn u so ghey... jk

teh Mazn 11-29-2007 01:07 AM

i little beep every minute or so wouldn't matter...this release is gonna be sick.

cloudscollide 11-29-2007 01:08 AM

If his vocals are better than on Kezia than i'm going to love this cd. I respect his vocals but at times they annoyed me on Kezia. If they are little bit more mature sounding than he'd be perfect.

PROTEST THE HERO Fortress
Universal/Underground | www.protestthehero.com
Few thought that anything was lacking from 2005’s Kezia, but to those few, there’s a copy of Fortress with your name on it. Protest The Hero’s newest offering doesn’t hold anything back. Actually, everything might be a little overdone – guitar wankery, a keyboard solo by Dragonforce keyboardist Vadim Pruzhanov on “Limb From Limb,” and the orchestrated instruments in “Bone Marrow” – but everything works in its own context and serves a purpose. Those who like the more metal side of PTH will fall in love with the CD, as virtually all 10 songs come to climactic metal passages that have that ‘epic’ feel without forcing it. The album is described as having “two three part movements” in the promo sheet - much like that of an orchestra, which is a feeling you’ll get while making your way through Fortress. Technically speaking, the musicianship is superb, and the band as a whole sounds a lot more mature – with help from vocalist Rody Walker who is easily one of the highlights of the disc. Fortress is a perfect title for this album. Each song is its own piece of the cohesive product, and by the end of your first listen, it will compel you to enter the Fortress once again.
