Hello everybody, I'm a new poster here. I'm not very much into black metal, but I really like Mayhem (and Immortal by the way), so I was wondering if you had any suggestion as to which bands I should check out, I'd really appreciate your help. Thanx!

Not necessarily, dude. Some people just like different types of black metal.

Elric, I'd suggest you look up the 'favorite black metal bands' topic and start downloading all. Then I think you'll have enough material to see if your really like black metal or really don't

My personal favorite black metal bands are Mayhem (obviously), Emperor, Dissection, Naglfar, Immortal, Taake, and Limbonic Art. I like many others, but I'm sure no one cares to know.

I think that Taake is one of the most underrated bands out there right now!

Yeah, I have De Mysteriis... and Live in Leipzig (and also Chimera btw) and I think they're both great, though I strongly prefer Dead' voice, maybe because it's more death oriented? I also have some Immortal, my fav's Damned in black.
Instead I can't dig more, uhm, melodic, atmospheric, keyboard driven black metal, say like Cradle of Filth, if it's black metal anyway.
