hey matt, here Pedro from Spain. I wanna ask if your Legion Studios have a website or something like that, i want to know more about them. Will you work as engineer for your new record? if so, it would be cool if you can share some of your secrets for a nice production :p
Here in Spain most studios have a lot of gear and equipment but dont know a shit about how Death Metal has to sound. For example, last time I recorded with my band we recorded in the semi-pro studio of a friend of us, we had a cool sound in the recording/mixing, but we were to a pro-studio to make the final mastering and they fuck all the shit up by throwing away all the highs and all the "shine" that the mix had....hopefully, things are changing and we have a few studios that can manage extremities....

Dude totally, that's a good idea. I've been wanting to put some sort of link on our Odius site because alot of people are saying good things about the quality of the recording.

Yes, Legion Studios is my studio. One of my goals for the future is to become a audio engineer/producer. I have worked with a few local bands. And recently I finished recording an album for a band called Odius Mortem, check em out @ www.odiusmortem.com I did all the tracking for my album at my studio. We had the final mix and master done at Imperial Mastering by Colin from Vile. As some of you may know I have some issues with the final mix of "...And Time begins", and its nothing to do with Colin's skills. It's just not what we were looking for. So as I mentioned in another thread on this forum, we are considering releasing a remix/remaster version of the album. Right now I am building a web site for Legion Studios, and I plan on having it up soon. Also, the studio is no super high end facility, however I am working on getting better equipment, and at this moment the studio is in between facilities. And yes, Decrepit Birth will be recording our next album at Legion.

I don't think a remix is going to satisfy the nay sayer's. They will never be happy. I say fuck it and let the cd stand as is. I think it is more than powerful enough as is. That's the way you wrote it and that is the way it should stay. Just my opinion.

I would recommened Legion Studios to everyone who wants to record. Matt really knows what he's doing and is a pleasure to work with. He is patient and willing to work with you as much as necessary for the recording to sound how you want it. Word up Matt, thanks again for everything... Your the man.

here in norway bands tend to record on 4 track monolog mixers, or just a taperecorder. hahah, it might have something to do with the fact that there are almost no DM bands around in this country though, only "true-necro-BM-bands" haha
