Dead's suicide

I could never tell why Dead killed himself. Any Dead experts out there who could tell me why and how?

He had always been depressed and shit, at the same time he was into the concepts of an afterlife and spirit planes. He cut himself up pretty bad, didn't die, then ended it with a shot gun to the head.

Dead didn't feel like he belonged in this world: he felt like he was something from another place. He (supposedly) hated this world and just about everything in it.

i respect Dead a lot - and Euronymous, but i didn't really like how Euronymous turned his friend's suicide into a publicity act. He was all telling people Dead killed himself becuz the scene was getting too "trendy" and to keep black metal "true" he killed himself for the genre. He kinda sold Dead out a little bit by doing that. He was just really depressed

At one point Aarseth was rumored to have eaten part of Dead's brain. Probably not true, though.

yes he did...it apparently made him puke...heh!....he certainly took some risks too...had he not been killed i think that sooner or later hed of ended up getting fukked over the dead pictures...and hed shown em to loads of people..sent em around.and posted skull fragments to others aswell.....barmy fukker

Ummm...no. What the other people have said in above posts makes a lot more sense. Depression and feeling like one doesn't belong here can make one wish to commit suicide. I don't think that death metal going mainstream would make Dead kill himself. That's a bit ridiculous.

the idea that dead commited suicide because of death metal becoming trendy is total nonsense....that was just some rubbish that euro used to write to people......yes he did taste deads brains...and post peices of cranium...and shotgun pellets(BLOODSTAINED) to certain people...both abruptum guys,bull metal(massacre/columbia) among others....it was bullmetal who did dawn of the black hearts lp....it had nothing to do with the mayhem guys....infact i can tell you that when necrobutcher saw that lp...it was the first time hed seen one of the dead photos...
i also know that deads brother(micheal) has also seen that album cover.....which must be kinda fuckin horrid.
one more thing.......euronymous and a couple of well known swedish guys were planning to dig up dead and take his corpse and bury it in the woods.....

I have heard that some guys did that, but not that about Euronymous was behind the idea...i think it was i 95-96 ther was an attempt to dig him up....if im not misstaken :rolleyes:
