View Full Version : Portals to Uphobia booklet?
Master of the Anvil

I just got this in the mail... killer disc. However, I've got to wonder if the booklets are printed wrong. Eight pages with nothing but cover art, band photo on back and band photo in middle and a bunch of background art. No lyrics, notes, info, nothing. Seems kind of weird, like a printing error. I got mine from theendrecords in the US. Are they all like this?
Not that I care all that much, the music slays...

If its the promo, then its the way it is sup[poes to be....
But if its the real release, then we have a problem!

I have bought a The End retail version from a guy on ebay and he confirmed to me that the booklet includes the lyrics, so the retail version has lyrics, which means you -Master of the Anvil- probably got a promo version.

Help me out here: this means there are two verions of the promo as well? Since the promo I have doesn't have a booklet at all. Did you pay for the CD or get it for promotional purposes?

There are European promos in cardboard sleeve (which we have) and The End manufactured their own promos. Apparently the promos they printed are the disc with the booklet without the lyrics.

Then I sure hope they don't sell those?

Then I sure hope they don't sell those? As I wrote, I bought a US retail version from an American guy on ebay and asked him about the booklet and he wrote me "booklet has lyrics", so supposedly it's only the (non-European) promo versions that lack the lyrics.

That's why I am curious wether Master of the Anvil got the disk for review or actually bought it. I understand the retail version is with the lyrics, but just want to make sure they're not also selling overstock promos or anything.

Hmm, if that would be the case, that would be quite unprofessional.. Can't imagine The End would do something like that.

It's a fucked up situation, you'd almost think this album is cursed or whatever.. :couto:

I informed Herve and he mailed The End Records for ask for explanation on this. To be continued...
I really don't understand that there wasn't ONE person at The End Records that CHECKED the booklets BEFORE they were shipped out to the stores!! And even if they claim they've received the artwork like this from Osmose, was there no one to think that there are an awful lot of pages just to show the artwork??? Doesn't that ring a bell? But what's done is done, I really really hope there will be a (very) good solution for all this!

There were even PDF reference files on the CD, which included the lyrics... So they've been totally careless about it. Ah well, let's see what they tell Hervé..

Mistakes happen.. who knows, when Detonation take over the world the mis-printed versions may become quite a collectible.

Hopefully you'll have it soon.

ALright, I finally got answers from The End recs/Osmose....they apologised for fucking up, the plant that printed the booklet simply "forgot" to print the lyrics and text as well, ubelievable. The End promised to kick their asses and make sure the next print will be including everything....

I suggest everybody who ordered from The End and got a 'wrong' copy, ask The End to replace it with a correct copy, which every fan deserves for their money. The End should sort it out with the pressing plant.

perhaps The End could get extra properly printed booklets, and include them with the albums they have, and send copies to everyone who ordered a copy so far, probably a lot easier... especially since the CD should be fine?

I'd still be happy with one without lyrics... collector's item. The lyrics are on the net :P

You were, yes!
By the way I have an awful confession to make...my frituurpan broke down 2 weeks ago, and I haven't bought a new one yet... :couto:
This is a turning point in my frituur career. I hope I'll recover, but things look damn ugly at the moment. :martyr: :suicide:

Is there any sort of helpline you can call in one of these disaster moments? How ever will you recover?!? We must start a help-fund immediately!!! (consider my recent splurge on Detonation merchandise my donation...)
