I have cool edit pro 2.
And i wanted to know what is a recording program?
What is a good drum machine to use?
And what other basic things are god for quality when you have an extremly restricted budget.
If any one knows what Luke used in ther early days that would be great, or if you have any recomen \dations that would be fucking great

For drum programs, I recommend Fruity Loops. Get version 4 if you can. It would have to be the most user friendly program for writing beats, and songs, that I've come across.
This wasn't used for berzerker stuff though. To get a full rundown on that, there is a studio section on the website, check it out.

-For drums i like cubase vst , easy to see , and technical patterns are easy to program , only think is you have to click each hit etc , so takes a while
-I never got to friendly with fruityloops or logic
-cool edit is user friendly , simple/effective effects
-cakewalk is a piece of shit

i reckon you would be better off composing drums using something like logic or protools. They have nice midi progamming.
protools and logic give you total dynamic control, so you can make your drum samples sound like a drummer has played them. which i find much nicer than no dynamics at all. but that is my personal taste.
fruityloops gives you some of those options, but not in the same detail.it is definatly a good program for those who have no experience with midi programming. very point and shoot. \m/

dude , V4.2 is a pile of piss(cept for the effects on show). soz like, but that is my opinion.
if you listen to any of the stuff me an copper did, all the drum shit was created with 3.0...an acid 2.0 for certain loops.
but yeah, fruity loops is a great programe series for drum sequencing/beats
