Just wanted to say congrats on an amazing new album! I was expecting to be blown away but it just totally sent me for a ride. I should have a review up on my site soon and an interview to you guys as well.

One thing bothers me about the press though. Ignorance can be a terrible thing. I just don't understand the comparisons to Otep and Kittie that I've read a few times. Hell, Crisis was around when they were both still in diapers. It's funny when people automatically assume that the cd they recieve for review is the bands debut album. It's all about research. You have to know what you are talking about, you can't fake it.

Anyway, congrats on the new album! Glad to see the band back and kickin' arse!

Anyone interested, check out my webzine: http://www.unboundzine.com

funny enough, last year I asked to Otep, I was interviewing, if she was influenced by Karyn. This is the right way to see similarities in their approach, I guess.
Maybe writers in media aren't so aware of importance Crisis had on records released after their masterpieces! :D

I always figures Otep had to be influenced by Karen (although the phrase "ripping off of" comes closer to mind). Unfortunately, both she and her band never really seemed to understand what Crisis is doing. There is so much more going on here than just the suface manic screams. There is a depth and literary quality to both the lyrics and the music that bands like Otep entirely lack. Plus, as far as I know, Karen has never done anything as pathetic as Otep's shit-poor attempt at rapping. EEEEEEE-gaaad was that painful. Long live bands that concentrate on writing good songs instead of depending on the "we have a girl who screams" schtick.

By the way, Like Sheep Led to Slaughter destroyed me and is still doing so. Damn do I love this band!!!!!

For those who care, I put the hollowing on my list of ten discs people should own but for some stupid reason probably don't. If you care to waste a little more time chack it out here:

I do intend to have the next issue up sometime and place a review of the new CD in there as well, but by the time I get that done you should all have the CD anyways. hve fun kids.
