What are you guys using gear wise these days, still the 2120 Mason? If so, how are you likin' it after a few months now?
I like the tone from my 2120 better than anything I've ever played. I don't think that I need anything else for a long time. Besides, I need an all in one effect unit, because I'm writing more music that involves clean guitar. Chorus, phaser, delays, and synth effects are pretty essential to me.

Awesome dude I might have to check out the 2120....I'm using a Pod XT Live and after 8 months I have finally found a relatively good sound, and I ain't no stranger to these digital hardcore tweaker preamps! I tried a Boss GT-Pro the other day, fuckin awesome so I'm looking into getting a GT8...

Also, what do you tune to on your 6 strings? Is all the material in one tuning? I'm guessing you're 7 string(s) are in BEADGBE but if not, what are you rockin? Thanks dude!

Yeah, I still haven't tried out the GT-pro yet. I'm in no hurry, though. The only mod that I had done to my preamp is that I switched out the stock preamp tubes and put in Electro Harmonix 12AX7EH instead. They really rounded out my tone.

As far as tuning goes these days. We might be tuning everything 6 string to EADGBE and the 7 string to BEADGBE. I feel that the tension is better in E to play tighter. It's still up in the air though.

Fuckin' right on man, gotta respect a death metal band that plays in standard tuning...I'm a big fan of E myself...heaviness is in the tone and the riffs, not the tuning, and it's called standard tuning because that's what the guitar sounds best in!

Hell yeah, dude. Some of the heaviest albums are in E tuning.

Any tone you can think of, it can do it. Shimmery, glassy, creamy, warm, cold, jazzy, vintage. It pretty much does it all.
