Hey Colin, I just got a protools LE system and I was looking for a good sample replacement plugin. Can you give me any thoughts on what I should check out? I was looking at Drumagog, but maybe Soundreplacer is better for protools 6.4 because its a digidesign product? Any thoughts?

*edit: is there anyother replacement plugins to look at?

I am using Drumagog in Nuendo. It allows you to use multi timberal samples and if far more involved and flexible. But the atvantages only come if you are willing to make your own samples and use them.

With Soundreplacer you just get 3 zones so you can only use 3 samples rather than Drumagog's 48. And Drumagog will randomly select from your sample folder which is very cool. Also with Drumagog you have to get the whole track right, then mix it down in real time and then place the new file back up into the mix. With Soundreplacer you can replace the hits a few at a time and adjust as necessary and it automatically places the new hits in a new track below the one your working on. Its a little faster to use.

So I'd say for more realistic sampling and versitillity, go with Drumagog. If you want a really simple program and you dont need all sorts of Dynamics go with Soundreplacer. Actually go with aptrigga its like Soundreplacer but better. Thats what Andy Sneap uses.
