CRYPTOPSY On PIGGY's Passing: 'A Quebec Legend Is Gone But Not Forgotten'

Canadian death metallers CRYPTOPSY have issued the following statement regarding the passing of VOIVOD guitarist Denis "Piggy" D'Amour:

"Wow, it seems like all the greats leave us at a young age. Having had the pleasure to tour and be friend with such a man was a great honor. A Quebec legend is gone but shall not be forgotten. His immense talent and persistence will inspire us always.

"Our condolences to the D'Amour family, VOIVOD members and his friends.

"Rest in peace, Denis, and much love."

Hails and Horns to all the Cryptopsy fans around the globe! It's great to be back on a Cryptopsy board...

... I just wish it wasn't on such a terrible occasion. Piggy, You were, are and always will be a metal guitar legend. His amazing work in Voivod enabled these thrash godfathers to put French-Canadian metal on the international scene, giving it a unique, unorthodox identity that set it apart from anything else. My fave Voivod album would have to be their thunderous debut "War And Pain." I'm going to crank it as soon as I get home from work!! :devil:
