Could be interesting, but I kind of doubt it.

Hmmm, hadn't heard that one. Seems unlikely but I'm a fan of good power metal along with death, thrash and grind. It would be interesting to hear Tony from Sonata Arctica guest on a Cryptopsy track! ;)
Who knows? I recall that Cryptopsy dominated at one of the recent big fests in the States and Nightwish were on the bill on the same day! C'mon a duet between Lord Worm and Tarja.. I'd buy that for a dollar. She'd have to play a very unfortunate sexual assault and murder victim (not necessarily in that order), if the lyrics in "Phobophile" are anything to go by...

I wonder were this rumor came from. There is not much information out on OWN so this is simply nonsense. I just could imagine some "ritual chants" or something like that to fit the atmosphere of the songs.

Maybe some speaking or chanting, as mentioned before. But never singing, you can be sure.

It's Cryptopsy....you can be sure that it's going to be awsome, no matter how he does the vox.

Of course, there would be nothing more extreme than having a small dose of low register, clean vocals on a Cryptopsy album :emot-nod:

Imagine if he popped in an Angel Of Death style scream into one of the songs....
But anyway, I bet it's just another silly rumour.

For people who like that sound then yes, perhaps Mike doesn't compare. I figure you take what you are given. He wasn't there to follow in my footsteps. He was there to do his thing. He lasted for as many albums as I did and he certainly did many more tours than I did. He, in his own way, increased the fan base. People who did not like me found him better and more palatable. So now with my comeback I have to incorporate, not his phrasing style and the American hardcore style, but his clarity into my delivery to keep Mike's fans happy, but still stay myself and keep the old fans happy too. So I am trying to achieve the best of both worlds.
There you have it, straight from the horses mouth.

yes, the so called clean vocals just amount to two or three spoken parts. i wish i had the lyrics to the album.

Heheh, it's cool, it'll make the album that much sweeter when it finally drops. Keep posting any comments that you might have regarding the tracks!
