my 6505 feedsback tremendously, i have the gain a like 1 o clock, i have a hushIIb but it still feedsback with the threshhold all the way up. Will a hush super c solve the problem? or am i damned into feedback hell?

You have a problem somewhere. This is not normal. If you are not standing right in front of the cab it should not feedback. Try a different guitar, different cord, and then check tubes. Thsi is not normal. I just use a Boss NS 1 pedal and never get feedback anyway.

Try that guitar with a different head with all the same cords, efx, etc. I have a feeling its the head. But a cord can cause this and especially the guitar.
Troubleshoot it. Replace everything one thing at a time. First replace guitar, then cord, then head, efx, etc.

i replaced the battery, and restrung the guitar and it killed the noise, i guess it was the 9volt 81, i could turn the gain up, and threshhold down without barely any feedback

I have a HUSH Super C. It works great, no complaints at all. And I might be selling it if you're interested. My new Line 6 head has built in noise gate - I still need to mess around with it though. If I end up liking this built in noise gate, then I will be selling my HUSH Super C. If anyone is interested, let me know - it's in perfect condition.

hey what line 6 head do you have?
i have the line 6 HD147 (this has built in noise gate) and i've found that when amp is turned up .. even half way it still feeds backs... the noise gate on the head seems to work fully on low volume.. i have one of those ISPs which is amazing.. honestly for the price.. best thing. but when using the ISP and not the noise gate on the head i get a hissing in the cabs(no feedback at all).. like a distant waterfall like sound..(what is it btw).. so i use the noise gate on the head to get rid of that.
I have a Line6 Vetta II head. Actually when I bought the thing, the noise gate function didn't work. It's currently in the shop being fixed. So I don't know how well it works. I hope it works great - but we'll see. If not, then I will keep my HUSH as it works great all the time no matter what.
Thanks for the info about your hissing problem. Yeah mine does that too - so maybe I will try your trick using the noisegate on the head to get rid of the hiss and my HUSH as my all around noisegate.
Anyways, I'll let you know how well the noisegate on my head works once I get my head back - which should be in about two more weeks I hope!

Hey, the ISP pedal is just a front end pedal you plug your guitar into right? So it just stops the signal from going into the amp when you are not playing. But it does not quiet the power amp section of the amp. So you will always get hissing from the amp itself. Like when you turn up your stereo when the CD is not playing. You still get hiss. But this hiss doesnt matter. It wont interfere with anything.

Buy the 19" version of the ISP Decimator, put it between pre and poweramp and it works fine I think.

oh ok.. so like if you were to mice your amp.. like for a gig with a PA and stuff, the hissing wouldn't come through the PA speakers? or would that hissing be eliminated at the sound desk or something?

damn those veta II heads look fuckin complicated.. i thought my HD147 was complicated.. but this thing is hole other ball game. good luck with that
does the Vetta II have MIDI connection plugs at the back?..
with the HD i can plug my head (Using MIDI) into my computer and use that Line 6 edit thing and apparently using that you can tweak the gate and the compressor thresholds. so if the gate doesn't work to your satisfaction you could try tweaking it using the line 6 edit.. i haven't tried it yet so i don't know how effective it is and how much tweaking can be done using it.

Triggered by the guitar? Awesome! Can you set it while using the bridge humbucker and then switch over to the neck pickup and switch to a clean channel and still have the gate work properly?
Colin
Precisely!
