Metal Mind called me recently, and as i understood them, the DVD wont be released until end of June. The ads were sent to the magazines a long time ago, before they knew about the delays

Would this DVD be released in the U.S. as well?
If not...do European DVDs work on US DVD players?
I must have it!

If you have a zone free DVD player, it will play European DVDs as well, but in this case, i know there will be a US version with a different cover, but same content.
EonBlue
05-22-2004, 01:59 PM
Will it come out the same day?
And will I even be able to find it in the big stores? Or will it be on the internet only?
What exactly is the content?

what the DVD will hold? let me think.... I think we posted this on the forum earlier, but here goes again:
The actual live show from Krakow in stereo and 5.1. I think its an hour or so. A few songs from the Hole in the sky festival in Norway and from Vienna during the European tour.
Actual footage from the drum recording of materil for the Blessing in Disguise album (mixed really cool, so that you can hear the album version on the one side and the drum sound from the recording place in the other side).
35 minutes interview session, with all member present. Questions were sent in by fans.
5 bonus audio songs, including a pre production sample of a song from the coming album, done in a early state of the song.
Massive photo gallery, including photos of our equipment.
Biography (band and personal)
Discography (band and personal)
Backgrounds
Links
Art painted by Stein Roger Sordal (bass in Green Carnation)
Thats what i can think of right now!

We have played some 20 minutes from the first album live, during the European tour. The reason why we dont play it that often, is that none of the present members played on that album. The first album was written only for 1 guitar, guitar effects, bass and drums. We just havent had the time to work the music into the present line up with keyboards, etc. We have rather focused on new material since we rehearse extremely seldom.

No, i have great fun playing live with Green Carnation, and i guess in the end, that was what it was all about for me - finding therapy for me...
The DVD will be released in end of June i think, and i think that goes for all territories

So, tchort, any more word on the DVD? Release date yet? Is it pushed back?
As you can tell, I'm very excited about it.
A release date would be nice.

I have been in contact with the production company, but they were not updated themselves due to some health problems in the staff. But from their website, the release date is announced to be 15th of June.
I will post here when i know more.

No, but they were shipped out from Poland today, so expect the first copies in some stores within a week or so. Depending on customs clearance, distribution, etc.

Hi from México
I have one question about bonus tracks of this DVD, these are the same bonus as the Vynil`s Box
Damien666
06-16-2004, 06:17 AM
Yes, they are. Since both releases are due at the same time, it was no point for us to write 4-5 seperate and brand new tracks for both releases, and just use them as bonus material. That is like writing a full length album and only a couple of hundred people would get to hear it (the vinyl box is limited to 300 copies). The DVD, however, holds a demo of a brand new song, which the vinyl box doesnt have.

Tchort, please tell me HOW I can get this damned thing in the USA? It doesn't even come up on any of the big American websites that you order stuff off of...will I have to order it from Europe? Will it be in any american stores?
lazlo

EonBlue, try american stores like Dark Symphonies, theend records, blackmetal.com, and red stream, they distribute metalmind (DVD) and prophecy (box)

fonse; the pics on our web-page is from a previos dvd-recording in norway. this footage will not be used on our forthcoming dvd, which is a live recording from krakow, poland. we might use the previous recordings on a future release, but nothing is planned just yet.

But Kjetil, I saw the cover of the DVD (maybe not the real cover) and it had a big picture of what looked exactly like the pics on the website...what does the stage actually look like on the DVD?
Kjetil N
06-19-2004, 04:58 PM
errr...
it`s not that... spectacular, in a way
the dvd was recorded at tv krakow in poland, quite a big stage, but much more an ordinary concert venue than the previous recording, which was in a big outdoor theatre..
so there is a picture from the theatre on the cover, you say? well - i haven`t seen it yet, so i couldn`t tell..
cheers!

Damien666
06-19-2004, 08:30 PM
The US version of the DVD has a different cover than the European version. The link you posted, shows the American Version, if i dont remember wrong. The front cover pictures shows past and present live situations, but not from the actual DVD recording in Poland, as the cover had to be made before we got a chance to see photos from the show itself.

European cover of that DVD looks like this one I think ~~> http://www.stereo.pl/jpg/180/175093.jpg

06-20-2004, 02:25 PM
damn...that european cover is kickass....the US cover sucks bigtime...sorry guys. especially if its a picture of a different concert on the front...
Damien666
06-20-2004, 02:47 PM
the reason why there are two different covers, is because the US distributors thought the one they picked, would be more suitable for their market, than the European one.
Personally i like both, probably because i compiled them, but i dont see why one should any worse than the other, just because one of the photos is from another period of time. I mean, if you can dig having lots of extra music on the DVD, that was not recorded live in the same session as the DVD, (most would call it money`s worth) then why would one bother if one of the photos on the cover, a spectacular one if i may say, is not from the same session?
But in the end, its a matter of taste of course, and the US distributors had a different saying than the European one in this case.
No hard feelings? ;)
EonBlue
06-20-2004, 07:42 PM
The cover for the US one is fine, except for the fact that it just doesnt make sense because its from a different concert...looks kind of misleading to me. Either way I don't really care because I just want to see you guys play live! I ordered the DVD the other day and it is going to be shipped on June 27th, ordered it from Barnes and Noble, a huge book and music store over here. It needs to get here fast...

And is it called alive and well?
Damien666
06-27-2004, 01:19 PM
As far as i know, the DVDs were shipped out last week to distributors, so depending on postal speed, the DVDs should be in stock in most countries this coming week. However, it will probably take another week, before the DVDs will be delivered to the stores who ordered it or who is going to order it.
The DVD is called:
Green Carnation: Alive and well... In Krakow
MMP DVD 0023
We got the copies for the band on Friday, and they look fucking great!!!

How is the recording quality sound-wise though, Tchort?
Damien666
06-27-2004, 03:05 PM
I have only heard the 2.0 version because i dont have a 5.1 system, but the stereo version sounds very good. Its not the sound of a good produced album, nor as good as if we used our own drum kit, etc. but in general, its as good as it gets and far better than alot of other live DVDs i have seen/heard the last couple of years

The interview's nice, but the questions are a bit standard and there are several typos ;). All in all, great DVD!
Damien666
07-09-2004, 03:19 PM
Yeah, i noticed the typing errors when i saw it at home. I dont know why, but they changed the black screens (where the questions are posted) from the material we delivered (we at least had a spelling check run first)
A long time ago, we announced that there would be a DVD from us, and we asked if people wanted to send us their questions, and they did, so all the questions answered on the DVD, were from fans who sent them to us, and the shitty thing about the replacement of the Black Screens, is that we put the name of the person who asked the question and where he or her came from in the world.

Ok...since I would have to wait like 17 days 'til the dvd is available in the states, and then some weeks until maybe The End records would carry it, I'll buy it on e-bay ;) $13.00 plus $7 shipping.....$20, not bad...plus it's PAL so none of my friends can ask me for it bwahahaha :p

Animal,
I got it from Revolution CD at Newtown which is now my number 1 choice to buy heavy metal CD's in Sydney. They have a great selection and all items are the best priced in Sydney. I mean shirts are $35 there, compared to Utopia's $50.
Im sure Utopia will get it in soon, theyre pretty good at getting new release items in quick.
Oh by the way, i take back what i said about the Enslaved DVD, its not that bad, but Dark Tranquillity and Behemoth ones sound shit.
