I ordered one copy of each of the picture disc and regular blue/black splatter vinyl versions of this album from Season of mist mailorder and then shortly after being sold out there I ordered a second copy of the splatter vinyl from Napalm rec. mailorder as a back up because I'm a fanatic haha so i guess I liked it right? Yeah this vinyl is really nice. Great quality product you can just look at it a while for it's cool black on blue splats. So it's very aesthetically seductive to the eyes.
The sound quality is equally as nice. I have a vintage record player but I don't use the best 300$ needles for it so I don't get the best sound but it still sounds great but there is definitely more mids n highs in the sound than bass. Almost anything you'll listen to on vinyl is wider and more dynamically correct than Cd's because cd's although they have the highest output, clarity, and accessibility, are still a digital sample of the original tapes/masters. SO all bullshit rambling aside- season of mist did a great job on it in my opinion of making a true analog sounding version of this masterpiece. The tympans will sound deeper the voice shreik louder the MayheM roar is right there,in the room, splurging from a needle! On the downside it's lacking any kind of lyrics or inserts which is a big dissappointment for old school vinyl fans like me,but i forgive that i guess. The picture disc version features a band pic on the back with maniac with a knife through pig pose so that's cool! and on the turntable it plays more like the cd version with a little hiss in the background as is the case with all picture disc vinyls but it's also a nice listen and it's even more limited than the splatter vinyl only 500 avail i believe.
Gonna have MayheM fucking sign this on this tour hopefully! It's such a worthy addition to my collection. the indecent deathwhore does indeed rule! she fucking hates you all! bow and heed before the mighty vagina of life to death!
