need help on my vocals

please :( no ones given me any advice besides practice (which is obvious) an this is my "death metal vocals" untrained etc an i need a few tips etc http://www.geocities.com/secout/1.mp3 i no i suck at the moment :rolleyes:

Hmmm I made the same thread a while back but out of all the advice the best was to practice i know you've already said that bt it is the best advice any one can give practice every day, do it all the time try different things. I sound alot like Luke but thats just the way i am, i try to sound more like sauron from Decapitated. But just practice. and "eat pudding".

The advice i can give is use your voice. Dont necessarily go and copy exactly another bands vocalist. Invent your own style and obviously (sorry) practice. It doesnt really take long to create your own specific type of vocals. But yeah...practice makes perfect.

Yeah I like deep grunts but now I'm also practising on some screams like the berzerker bass does. But it's a lot more difficult technique to do as grunting is!... HEHe I'll post another sample when I've sung it ;)

The Berzerker Bass does the Lower, longer growls, The Berzerker (vocals) can do both high screams "like he is trying to pull his vocals up through mud"(DVD quote) and low growls also.

yeh , if ur calling me stupid for having an opinion that makes u the stupid one, i like and love the death gorwl but when its done well, i.e Nile, Cryptopsy (with Lord Worm) and the Berzerker, but when those vocals were added, shitly, to a great song that doesnt need death growls to make it sound gd, it made it shit, stuff like mortician and cannibal corpse is just terrible music, all fucking monotonous, actually shit, i mean listen to the barbarian by mortician how any one can listen to that fully without laughing at how shit it is i'll never know

yeah thats what cannibal corpse is. and six feet under. BUT they do kick ass. just not as much as other brutal bands that dont get recognised by little kids who think they are metal.

Well I am new to the forum but I think I can jump in on this one. As far as the..um "Death metal vox" goes. you have to scream from your guts not your throat. I used to sing from my throat and I would fry my vox after four or so songs. If you use your gut you can not only sustain a scream or growl but you can also reach higher and lower notes in the process by taking the straing off your throat muscles. I guess I will post a link to some of my shit but, I must warn you I got fired from this band for being too hard for them. I just think they were a bunch of Mainstream pussies myself. I recently started a Death/Blackcore project that is much more suitable for my chaotic tendencies.
