Well Demonhost you have missunderstood me. I don't think that
Black Metal is for elitar people. No i think that music should be for everybody but not everybody can understand Black Metal. You now what i meen? I am not neo-nazi or neo - comunist, i am only satanist and i will never envolve Politic to Black Metal becaus i think that politic is thing which destroy music. I think that Black Metal should be like in the time when Mayhem , Darkthrone, Immortal start to play becaus it was special kind of music and today there are many shity bands which says that they play Black Metal and they don't do it. Black Metal is not a trend, and it is not for trendy people. Hail!!!!!!!!!!!!

What are you talking about? Satanism is almost as retarded as christianity! All BM bands either use Satanism as a gimmick (which I don't mind) or they are stupid enough to believe in Satan. I'll take atheism, thank you very much.

Atheism is the way. People think they need religion for some fucking retarded reason. Regarding to the original post, black metal is not only for people who enjoy "evil" or "satan". That is fucking stupid. I listen to black metal because it's good music...usually. I don't pretend to be evil by listening to shitty/low quality sound bands and drawing pentagrams on my fucking hand. I like Immortal, Mayhem, Naglfar, Emperor, and Dissection when it comes to black metal, and a couple others. They are all very talented and unique, in my opinion. I don't give a fuck if they killed people or burned down churches. Wow man, that is so evil. Maybe if I listen to their music, I too can become evil. Music is music. People listen to it if they think it's good. Jesus fuck, Count Negro, that is a stupid philosophy.

People here seem to confuse things up big time. Orginal black metalists were anti-christians, but did not believe or worship anti-christus! Don't bring the christian aspects of devil here.

I have born and lived in northern Scandinavia and I have discussed about Black Metal (BM) with people who personally knew Aarseth (Euronymous) and have developed BM.

BM was orginally all about TWO FUNDAMENTAL dimensions.

1. It is rage and hate against christians

2. and admiration and homage to early Scandinavian religions.

The object of the homage that is early Scandinavian religions developed from the Germanic religions in the northern extremity. The darkness of the 51 day lasting polar nights and freezing temperatures turned in the minds of early scandinavians into very unique and fascinating mythologies.

Early scandinavians felt being part of the nature and lived accordingly. They enjoyed severe challenges and despised weakness.

The harmony between nature and human was destroyed by the christians who infiltrated themselves among Scandinavians and little by little murdered and destroyd everyone who clamored against Christianity. Clamored against the arrogance and absurd idea that humans were something above nature and its animals, that scandinavians worshipped. Christians turned scandinavian divine beings e.g. he-goats into embodiments of Satan.

Christians separated humans from the nature which is by far the biggest crime that has ever occured!!! And now we all have to suffer from that and that suffer in scandinavia is expressed (among other ways) by BM.

It is somehow tragicomic to see how BM has turned into meaningless anti-christus shit in hands of some.

Black Metal is only for real bad persons!!!!!!!!!!!I think that there are many Black Metal bands which i wouldn't call Black Metal, but
there are also many bands (like Carpathian Forest)which are very
great. I play in Black Metal band and i can proudly said that this is TRUE BLACK METAL band because we tried to be honest in what we do . And we do a lot of Extreme things.

Support Black Metal music !!!!Hail Czarci Majestat!!!!!!!!!!
How old are you? 13?

This kind of elitism is a trait I most commonly find among balck metal newbies who listens to Black Metal because they wish to belong in a community, much like neo-nazis or radical communist youth-groups. When they feel they are accepted into the community, they will, like you just did, proclaim that this is not for anybody, and you have to be deemed "worthy" to join. Seriously, how did you get into black metal? Were you picked up in some joint by a group of true satanists who taught you about Black Metal? Did you take an evil-test to see if you were evil enough to listen to Black Metal? No, of course you didn't, you just happened to enjoy black metal, and started buying bm cd's and music, and now you somehow imagine you were chosen or that you are member of an elite.

You share my musical taste, and that is good, but pretending to be a VIP because of musical taste is as childish as the already mentioned neo-nazis and neo-communists.

I agree with a bit of both messages. Black White Brown Yellow - how does it matter? If you enjoy the music, you enjoy the music. Most people who like Black Metal enjoy fantasy - and there is a strong correlation. I grew up on AD&D, Aliens etc.. and am drawn to the imagery of good vs evil, often portrayed by these Black MEtal artists. Sure, I don't believe in most of what some of them believe in - Satan etc. But I don't endorse brutal killing and I like horror movies, which have them.

Someone here said original BM was more pro-gods of yore and anti-christian than pro-satan. True. Coming from an old religion which was constantly under attack by a newer religion (luckily the older survived the invasion and still believes in the 'older gods'), I can sense the anger which is comes from being forced to worship something alien.

Nevertheless, Black Metal is about freedom from boundaries. It's pretty weird to think that only a select group of people can listen to it based on color/race etc. I think only a select group actually understand the music - to most its horrible noise. So on that basis, it is not for everybody.

Let's gather the troops, not dwell on infighting.

In modern world racism is stupid. It's something for elder people who lived in caves, ya know. But there is such a thing as ideology... can you for example accept some religious jew listening BM??? i can't.

Oh, that's stupid. How can i respect illogical things? Paganism for example is a fucking religion. Any religion is stupid. Whoever they give a fuck - jehova, odin or any other it's shit. Atheism has no logic in it. The only one i can respect is Satanism, because nowdays it's an ideology, not religion.

Whoa! What does Emperor have to do with that pagan shit?
And why do you talk about "most" if that was an enough argument? Who gives a fuck about what the most are doin'? By the way, BM are not only these Scandinavian bands, the 1st BM band actually was from Great Britain...

Anyway all that "neo-paganism" is a trend started by Christian Vickernes, nothing more. The fun is that C. Vickernes himself is looking like he was serious about all that odin-bullshit... :D

What the hell are you saying?? just as religion has ALWAYS been, ideology and religion is shit for the unsophisticated masses, no matter whether it's called christendom, satanism, odinism, fascism or democracy. it's about limitation of the mind, about other even stupider people making up the rules for you, do you want that?? it doesn't matter whether holy inquisition or hitler or a texan judge kills because of your beliefs, your deeds or whatever, you're dead either way.
religion and ideology are dogmatic and for the masses, black metal isn't, is it?? keep that in mind...!!

It is currently fashionable ( esp in Europe) to ' respect other's beliefs'.
To me it depends upon what those beliefs are: for instance, I do not respect the belief of someone who believes the way to paradise is by murdering strangers in a ' jihad'.
I do not respect the beliefs of those suffering from any religious mania at all.

The 'ideology' of Black Metal that I do regard as valid is
1)anti-religion ( not just anti-xian, but anti-jewish and anti-islamic)
2) A rejection of the 'culture of the victim' : I choose strength over weakness. As it says in the Edda, 'It is better to take revenge than mourn the death of a loved one'. (paraphrased)
3)A realisation of Man's aloneness in the cold external reality and the inner integrity that enables one to persevere and triumph.

As to Satanism, if there are gods then they are our enemies. They deserve a war against them , rather than worship.

Right, nothing applies to all Black Metal.
It's a genre of rejection, rebellion and individuality, not a stereotype.
Many of the pioneers of the genre ( as in Mayhem)
were fascinated by darkness, death and pain. This made for some kick-ass fucking art but also limited the amount produced. ( Dead Men make no music.)
I find life quite dark enough, thank you, and regard death as likely merely the end of experience, perception and possibility.
The themes I listed in my post are those from ( some) Black Metal that apply to my personality and philosophy.
