I purchased a 6505+ head and the tone is awesome, i had to run a hush II b to kill some unwanted noise but overall its pretty cool. Ive heard of ways of rebiasing these heads and making them run hotter. Would it even be necessary?

Yeah just take the back grill off and on the left side is a little screw with a red marker thats for biasing. I think I ended up turning mine clockwise a little further than it was set. Basically the more you turn the more voltage and the hotter the amp runs. Tune to your own taste.

Also my tone benifitted greatly by swapping out the power tubes for new Ruby Tubes(or Mesa, or JJ), and re biasing by ear.

The power tubes that come in it are Chinese and are not that great. But the Chinese preamp tubes in it are quite good.

whats your opinion on sonic maximizers in gear rack?

There are some threads in the Decrepit Birth forum on them you might want to read too.

I dont like them, I think that they ultimately mask a lot of essential mid frequencies that help distorted guitar stand out in a mix.

The best rigs that the pros record with are usually very simple. Guitar--head--cab--mic Many times theres also a noise gate and an effects processor for leads. Thats usually all you need.
