Any of you guys into this album? I know its pretty far from anything brutal, but this album is one of my all time favorites! I was just watching the Operation Livecrime DVD, my god... amazing!!!! I've been in to them since I was a little kid, and they were very different from a lot of rock stuff back then. I really dig how Operation Mindcrime is a concept album, and the way it's put together is almost like an opera. I really wish I would have seen them on that tour. Great shit!

I got into them six months ago, God almighty how fucking good they are. "Operation Mindcrime" is the only cd I have, and it bears as much relevance now as it did when it came out, simply fucking amazing. It's a timeless classic!

Yeah I totally agree it's one of my favourite albums of all, great music, great voice (I think Geoff Tate is far better than Dickinson) great arrangements and also the story is great... you can remind every song... Suite Sister Mary, Operation Mindcrime...
Great album... but my favourite of all is not that... it's... fuck, I can't choose

Right on! One of those albums they look at you funny when you bring it to the counter to buy it, but definitely a classic. The thematic structures in this album are top notch and weave an interesting plotline matched by the sheer musical virtuosity of the accompanying musical passages. The only part that creeps me out is that there's no female vocal credit given for Mary's singing part (it's all our boy Tate.)

on the DVD The female parts in Suite Sister Mary were done by some woman. I was wondering about the album... its all Tate huh?

Hmmm, it gives credit to Pamela Moore for playing the part of Mary, but doesn't say if it's the vocals, the spoken intro, or on the video or what. I think Geoff Tate's got it in him to pull the woman vocals though :p
