i don't see how it'd be too late, but to be honest man... I think Dev's stronger side is on the writing / production / creative side than on the playing side.

And I'm not "player-hating" or "bashing" as I've heard it called on other boards, especially considering how much of a hypocrite I'd be considering I have a SYL tattoo, but it's just my opinion.

I saw SYL open for MESHUGGAH in 2003 and Devin was superb at keeping fast and furious crunching thrash rhythms played over Gene Hogland's killer bashing!!! In fact, I felt that I was in thrash paradise at that moment!!! But as you mention, maybe Devin Townsend is a bit more suited for a web thread titled 'fave musicians' or sumthing like that instead...no?

There's no way I'm ripping Dev at all, it's just there are guitarists out there that dazzle me a lot more than him.

I have far more respect for Dev for his writing and creative side, writing the SYL and DTB music, than just one aspect of his playing :)



btw, on a side note, Vogg's solos are currently owning my soul :D

Hey,

My music partner Attakker attended the 2004 Inferno fest in Norway this year and he mentioned that 'Decapitated' were one of the best sounding and also one ov the tightest bands at the festival this year!!! So, I do realize that they are quite a good deathmetal band for such young lads...hehe!!!

They'll be Vader's worthy successor...

I think Vitek has stood in for Doc, when he was 16 or something I think after the latter broke his foot.

It'd be a fucking awesome tour if Vader took Decapitated out with them (outside of Poland).

Hmmm...It may be true, I don´t know. But I must confess I never heard about that.
Zombek from Yattering filled in when Doc had the heroin addiction problem. He did an european tour and some festivals. I saw a gig in video from that tour...Vader have never sounded so powerful!!!

When I was refering to Yattering, I was talking especially about the drummer. The band is very good, but what stands out is definetely the drummer. Have you ever seen them live? Now that´s when they truly shred, I assure you, mate.
