I didn't even know the new one was out yet. I downloaded a couple tracks off the bands website already but it looks like I'm gonna have to go check this one out. How does it compare to "Determination" in your opnion?

Yeah, i really do like all albums from Old Man's Child and that Sheol from Naglfar is pretty cool, but about that new Dimmu Borgir. Actually i don't like it. I think it's quite boring. Offcourse there are some good things but in total i think it's not so good.

Ya, a lot of their fans aren't that happy with the new album either. I saw them play in SF a couple months ago with COB, Nevermore, and Hypocrisy. Fortunately most of the songs on their setlist were from "Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia" and "Spiritual Black Dimensions".

BTW...If you're looking for some original black metal you might wanna check out a Norwegian band called Agalloch. Very talented, interesting stuff. I especially like their album called "The Mantle". It doesn't sound like anything I've ever heard before.

Agalloch are from Portland, Oregon and they are in no way black metal. They mix folklore aesthetics with doom influence although "The Mantle" is more of an epic release than their older stuff.

I think they have definately have some black metal influences in their music, although I will agree that they incorporate atmospheric folklore into their sound. Sorry...I knew they weren't from Norway...I was looking at Dimmu Borgir's website as I was typing that shit. Doh!
