View Full Version : A couple Question for Luke
Well, Im thinking about trying my luck at trying to do a one-man-band sorta like you guys, you know, a crazy ummm Death Industrial band....
I can probably do it all by myself because i know how to play guitar and bass and I can try to scream heh. But my questions are...
1. What type of mic do you think I should use?
2. What programs did YOU use for the drum tracks, and where did you get the samples for them?
3. Would I better off with hardware (synthesizers and whatnot) or software (Computer Programs)

There's something. I don't understand a flying rat's ass, but I think that you'll find something useful from there.
That's from the homepage, on the right "studio". There's something else too

you can easily download some of the software, though Steinberg(cubase, wavlab)won't work via download
the rest is hardware....again though, you can find some decent stuff quite cheaply in places.
Tascam M-2516 Haha i have one of those, set up with Yamaha Yz-6003...or something...its in my room and i'm not getting up off my arse to look....anyway thats an 8 track that i use as a pre-amp. i run all my guitar's 'n' bass' through a Laney 180 Hardcore Max (this thing is fucking LOUD) which has DX output so i don't even need mic's...though i do prefer mic'ed amps...this thing atleast means i don't need to get rid of the static. I then run Bass through a bass pod, which uses overdrive, distortion and a Marshall amp synth thing (shit vocabulary has gone out the window today man) and the guitar goes through a Black Liquorish and an Ibanez Death Metal distortion pedal. Anyway thats what i use, i lay the vocals and drums down at the studio at the local arts college.
Here have 1/4 of a song i'm writing at the moment...in tab form...unfinished becasue i don't know where to go with it...working title April Faeces not really very heavy....its more Decapitated style. buts it pretty fast, anyway, enjoy...or not probably not.
EDIT: it won't let me upload it so if you are at all interested (unlikely) PM me.
Will sound alot better with some shit laid over the top.....dbl tracked guitars...bass....samples...drums.

Ibanez Death Metal Distortion? I heard of an Ibanez Smashbox, and I own a DOD Death Metal Distortion, but I don't know that one. What are them DanElectro metal pedals like?
