I've recently read both of the books listed in Terry's favorite book list, and they are both amazing. The reform suggested in both novels is very through provoking and intuitive. The Stranger reminded me a bit of myself, how nonchalant I've become in most things in general, and A Clockwork Orange has severely affected me and I occasionally use the slang during common conversation. Strange indeed...
