I think a lot of people are bitching about the production. Who fucking cares? If you're a real metalhead you can get around bad production. And I don't even think it's particularly bad. Yes, I have downloaded the new album, yes, I love it, and yes, I will buy it the day it comes out.

A while back, I came across this brilliant formula "explaining" the latest despicable human character trait to manifest itself in humanity: Fuckwittage.
If I remember right, it had something to do with
ANONYMITY + a SOAPBOX to cheaply and widely spread views (i.e. the internet)

The FUCKWIT...

Apparently, this "music journalist" either never listened to the album, doesn't know what Dark Throne sounds like, or both. That pisses me off because it's giving people a false idea about what the music is like, and all because this dumb ass decided not to put any effort into his review.
This goes back to my other point that any dumb-schmuck now-a-days gets to express his views...whether qualified or not...and worst of all, people seem to listen.
Rather controversially, I ponder back to the old days (80's to circa '95) when the only source for "information" about our favourite bands was a handful of printed 'zines. I'd only get to read the odd review/interview or two about the bands I idolised. Invariably, the comments were constructive and positive; maybe that's why so many of those legendary acts have cemented themselves so solidly and positively into everybody's memory... There was never the dissent and discussion (i.e. no internet) that takes pace now-a-days and invariably plagues bands everyday.
Alas, this is not a happy time to be trying to break through all the clutter...

The relapse forum is a giant open septic system, it really is. For every decent person over there seriously interested in something or capable of acting in a productive manner, there are ten times more that are just there to be:
A. Offensive
B. Obnoxious
C. Ridiculous
D. All of the Above
I'll admit I have some experience posting over there, and when in Rome...well, I could have been a lot worse I suppose. Eventually I mellowed out and started acting my age (more or less) found cool people and threads, because they're there - but around 75% of the topics and posters there revel and purvey an incessant grab-ass mentality. I think the majority of people are well aware of that though, it’s abundant not just there.
They get traffic like mad though; it's probably the heaviest traffic site in existence that is (more or less) Metal oriented.

I think there is some truth in this - I would consider myself a reasonably intelligent person, and Impaled's lyrics are well-written and striking. They catch my attention, as does the excellent music.
By the way, El-Heino, I'm really enjoying your song City of Envy, which I'm listening to right now.

I like posting really sarcastic rejoinders on the Relapse board.
That's all.
