ya man, i got some advice. Record your first album as soon as possable and put alot of money into it. Putting out demos really set back a band i think cause since this scene is so small a first full length kind of acts like a demo nowadays. Self release it and if people buy it, you will get a label. It really is that easy. Their are so many underground labels out their that i can garentee you that someone will pick you up as long as your not picky. Their are SO many badly recorded albums out their so if you put $4000 into your first cd, you will be basically skip 2 years of bullshiting around and be 10 steps ahead of the game. I regret not putting alot of money into our first cause it killed us as far as trying to make a name for ourselves. We had done it on our own and it lost so much because of that. I know not everybody has that much money to throw down cause we didn't at first but it will honestly save you years of shit.
step process:
1. get $4000
2. record with amazing production and spend time to make sure everything is perfect.
3. send to labels such as unmatched brutality, amputated vein and forever underground.
4. sign with whatever label gives you an offer, don't be picky. this is deathmetal, their ARE NO GOOD OFFERS.
5. let them rerelease the cd you self released
6. write an e-mail to EVERY europe fest asking to play and tell them you will send them a free cd. IF it has amazing production, they will book you.
7. tour Europe
this is a very small scene. if you do what i just said, it can all happen in about 6 months. i relized a while ago that it really is just that easy. the reason bands have problems is because they put out a bad cd with horrible production. SO, put out a cd with amazing production. the only problem is getting together the money. SO, have everyone in your band get a credit card and have fun maxing it out. i think it will be worth it. if you have 4 members that can all get preapproved for a card for $2000, then you have $8000 to work with. Take all the money out on cash advances and pay it back with the money you make off of the cd. Don't worry about local shows, being a local is hopefully not what you want. Write everyone in Europe that can book you once you have a label and you will sell shitloads of cds at the fests over their and make all your money back.

post some mp3's once you record something. My friend and I are starting a band too, since he's a shredmaster, but we aren't going to tour or take it seriously.

I think the thing he's leaving out is that you have to be really talented in the first place. Other than that, it probably works.

True. And the most successful DM bands are often the shittiest. (six feet under). Still, if you are going to make it as an underground DM band, you need skills.
